The Days of our Lives recaps for May 16 – May 20, 2022, feature the much-anticipated end of a much-derided storyline, some divine intervention, an account that just doesn’t hold water, and more.
Days of our Lives Recaps: Monday, May 16
The spouses Weston set about battling a possessed Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), but only Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) could penetrate the black magic conjured forcefield surrounding “Allie” and baby Bo. At the hospital, Ciara, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), and the wee one welcomed a visitation from Bo Brady’s (Peter Reckell) spirit.
Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) purposefully triggered an alarm that should have sent Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) running home to her, but John Black (Drake Hogestyn) answered the call in his steed; John and Jan sparred. Shawn and Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) celebrated their nephew’s rescue, but Jan managed to dampen the mood.
“Allie” made a beeline for Saint Luke’s, which she intended to burn to the ground. John, Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall), Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan), and Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) converged at that location and banded together to exorcise Allie. When all hope seems lost, Tripp offers the Devil a trade – his soul for Allie’s; Satan accepts. Afterward, Tripp flings himself through a stained-glass window!
DAYS Recaps: Tuesday, May 17
A grievously injured Tripp is rushed to University Hospital; Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) fails to revive him. Bo’s touch brings Tripp back to life… Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) returned to Salem and claimed to Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) that Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) was recuperating following a skiing injury; Kate is dubious… Allie’s loved ones rally around her… News of Tripp’s death and revival begin to circulate.
DOOL Recaps: Wednesday, May 18
Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) informs Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) that he’s returning to Africa, and assures her that she’s not the reason for his departure… Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Steve both poke several holes in Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) story. She remains adamant that it was she who shot TR Coates (William Christian). Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers) begs her to confess the truth.

Lani comes clean to Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) – it was she who killed TR. Upon being apprised of the facts, Eli encourages Lani to go along with Paulina’s coverup… Xander asks Eric to tell Sarah that he’s taken Mickey on daddy/daughter vacay. Instead, Eric tells Sarah the truth when she comes a calling.
DOOL Recaps: Friday, May 20
Allie visits Tripp. When pressed by her former beau, Allie can’t bring herself to deny that she has deep feelings for Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens). Opposite this, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) makes clear to Chanel that he wants to win her back… Belle and Jan spar.
EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) call a vote of no confidence in the hopes of ousting Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) from the top spot at the family company. Gabi’s future seems bleak – until Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) puts in an appearance via video call.
