The Days of our Lives recap for Monday, June 26, 2023, featured Whitley seeing to it that she and Abe would never, ever be bothered again…hopefully…maybe.
In addition, Harris (Steve Burton) resolved to stick it to Megan (Miranda Wilson) while she schemed with Li (Remington Hoffman) to do likewise, Stefan (Brandon Barash) began to uncover that all is not well in his family home, and Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu) decided to throw caution, and the SPD handbook, to the wind. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Down at the local cop shop, Whitley (Kim Cole) reiterated that Abe (James Reynolds) would have to die. She’s sorry, really sorry, but what choice does she have? Death. It’s the only solution.
Outside the door, to the interrogation room, Theo (Cameron Johnson) wondered why Eli (Lamon Archey) was bothering to question Whitley about his dad’s disappearance. That necessitated Eli recapping the inconsistencies in Whitley’s two previous statements — in one, she had to leave early to tend to a sick cat, in the other it was to contend with her own personal illness [not that police business is really any of Theo’s].

Opposite this, Abe insisted to imposter Theo, AKA Jerry (Terrell Ransom Jr.), that he wasn’t his son, and it wasn’t just the amnesia talking. Oh no. He may still not be 100%, but he just had a vivid memory of his wedding day and it was bright as day and he was talking to his best man, his son, and it very much wasn’t the Theo standing before him.
Jerry issued an SOS to Whitley who tracked down Eli, doubled down on her story about having a sick cat to nurse, and managed to get his permission to skedaddle. Theo found it all incredibly suspicious.
Hoping to allay Theo’s concerns, Eli shared with him the information that the FBI gathered on Whitley. She’s hardworking, dedicated to her patients, a fairly recent widow and she’s childless — not exactly the profile of a master criminal. And, since she doesn’t seem to have a reason to turn to a life of crime, she probably hasn’t.
Meanwhile, Whitley returned home and set Abe’s mind at ease. It was Brandon who served as his best man [thank goodness Abe has another son whose name Whitley can throw around] and since the two are now estranged [man, she’s good], she didn’t see the need to fill him in.
As to her plan to bump off Abe, Whitley drew some blood, gathered his hospital I.D. bracelet, and tasked Jerry with going to the docks and making up a story about a man falling into the drink. The planted evidence would do the rest.
Having tended to her hostages, Megan called Li to update him and query whether or not he’d made contact with Rolf (Richard Wharton). He had. In fact, he was meeting the mad doctor in a few hours. Megan was beyond delighted. Her plan was going perfectly to…well, plan.
But then, she had to go and loudly declare that her little brother Stefan (Bradon Barash) was in for quite the surprise at the exact moment that Stefan appeared. Megan managed to cover beautifully — she was putting the final touches on the engagement party she’s throwing Stefan and his lovely intended — but she rather fumbled when Stefan expressed a desire to invite Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) to the shindig.
After making up a lie about Kristen decamping to New York to go lawyer shopping, Megan took her leave. Stefan subsequently put in a call to his sister only to find her cell phone in a nearby drawer. Now, why would her phone be there if she was in the Big Apple? Opposite Stefan’s discovery, Megan was corralled by an armed Harris.
After taking in the sight of a towel-clad Jada, Rafe declared himself a lucky man — lucky that Jada had heard him knocking on her door while under the shower head that is.
Soon after relaying the reason for his visit — which was to tell her that Melinda (Tina Huang) had seemingly grown a heart and planned to go easy on Talia — Rafe had Jada in his arms, his lips on hers.
Once the two parted, Rafe apologized, but Jada wasn’t having it. If hadn’t kissed her, she would have kissed him. Having ran into Kate (Lauren Koslow) earlier in the day and gotten quite the pep talk, she was ready to say to Hell with the town council. Who are they to tell her what and who she can and can’t do in the privacy of her own bedroom? Rafe concurred. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be [and they might very well be meant to be]. Cue the lovemaking.
