On today’s Days of our Lives, Megan Hathaway had the great pleasure of informing Kristen that there was another DiMera family relation courtesy of her.
In addition, wicked Dimitri (Peter Porte) revealed that Andrew Donovan is his hostage, Xander (Paul Telfer) seriously considered that he was under attack, and Roman (Josh Taylor) and Katie (Lauren Koslow) got down to the business of reconnecting. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At Statesville, mail delivery person and inmate Megan (Miranda Wilson) called on Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) with a treat, namely a letter from Rachel (Finley Rose Slater).
Kristen tore into the missive and was pleased as punch to read that Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) were no longer an item. And as to Rachel’s concern that she was both sad for Brady and happy that that awful Chloe was out of her life, Kristen suggested that it was more than okay to feel that way.

Chuffed as she was for her sister, Megan couldn’t help but grouse that here she was, standing around listening to a letter about two people she doesn’t know and couldn’t care less about.
But no sooner had Megan and her cart made for the door than Kristen got to the part about Bo (Peter Reckell) being shot and slipping into a coma. That Megan cared about.
Kristen attempted to alleviate Megan’s panic by pointing out that “comas aren’t so bad.” After all, she’d been in a few herself, and she’d always awakened refreshed and ready to take on the world.
Still, Megan raged. This is the fate that befalls her beloved?! And after everything she went through to save him and bend him to her will? Oh, how she was sure that he’d eventually come to love her again.
Kristen again attempted to soothe Megan, pointing out that they were getting their information via a secondhand account from an eavesdropping child. And not for nothing, but the prison’s post system isn’t exactly reliable. So, by the time of Rachel’s next letter, Bo might be roused and hunky dory.
Choosing to look at the glass as half empty, Megan concluded that though that might be the case, Bo might also be anything but all right, and he was the sole reason she came up with a plan to extricate herself from Statesville in the first place.
“US,” corrected Kristen. The plan was to extricate the two of them from the Hell hole. Speaking of, where do they stand where a jailbreak is concerned?
Megan intimated that her man on the outside has it all under control, and upon being questioned, she revealed that said man was none other than Dimitri Von Leuschner.
Kristen queried Megan’s connection to the “Eurotrash charmer” and implied that it must be of a sexual nature. Megan balked. “Is that any way to talk about your nephew?”
Elsewhere, somewhere on the Mediterranean Sea, to be a bit more specific, Dimitri preened to Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) that he had an ace up his sleeve that would result in the ISA insisting that he accept a deal for blanket immunity — and he’ll do it…just as long as Megan is offered the same deal.
But what, or who, does Dimitri have to bargain with? Another hostage. And that hostage just so happens to be ISA director Shane Donovan’s very own son, Andrew!
Back in Salem, Xander and Chloe were roused in the middle of the night by quite the clattering. At first, the duo assumed that their brand-new apartment had been infiltrated by thieves, but it turned out to merely be Xander’s wall art sliding off and smashing to the floor.
Chloe boasted that she’d told Xander he needed to use a wall anchor, but he wasn’t so sure his faulty hanging skills were all that was at play. What if his and Chloe’s new abode was…HAUNTED!
Chloe wasn’t exactly sold on the idea, but Xander — he was from the spooky isle of Scotland — seemed pretty convinced. And even if it wasn’t the apartment itself that was beset by spookables, perhaps it was Xander himself. And the most likely candidate stalking him from the great beyond? Susan Banks!
That thought saw Xander lament how he’d been trying his damndest to learn from past grievous mistakes and not repeat them, but “Somehow trouble always seems to find me, or I find it. I get desperate for money usually, and then some opportunity arises, and before I know what’s happening, I’m neck deep in something illegal, and it spirals out of control till something very…very bad happens, like Susan Banks meeting a fiery death in that car crash.”
And sure, it might have been Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) who actually spent Susan over the cliff, but Susan was only in the backseat because he’d been too weak to resist taking the money that was on offer and too weak to say no to kidnapping Susan. If he hadn’t been, he’d still be happily married to Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), and Susan would still be alive.
Chloe offered Xander some literal tea and sympathy, and the tension between the two turned rather sexual. Luckily they both had the good sense to stop while they were ahead.
First, John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) attempts to snuggle, smooch, and snack on strawberries and whipped cream — which the former had whipped himself — were interrupted by Brady, who wanted to complain about Chloe and Xander’s living arrangement in particular and what a dirty dog Xander was in general.
Then, they were stymied by an SOS from Paul (Chrisopher Sean). Andrew was missing, and this was an all-hands-on-deck situation.
Opposite this, Roman and Kate decamped from the local hospital’s well-appointed waiting room back for Roman’s hotel room. There Roman had the privilege of placing Kate’s ring back on her finger where it belongs — and how mighty impressed he was by her resolve to retrieve it — and afterward, the two took to the nearby bed for a spot of lovemaking.
