Days of Our Lives Recap: The Moment Of Truth In Salem

The Days of Our Lives recap for February 10-14, 2020 features a whole lot of characters living with regrets, struggling to comprehend the fantastic, and so much more.

Days of Our Lives Recap Highlights

This week was all about the should’ves, the would’ves and the could’ves. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) should have listened to her brain instead of her heart because she has now been stealthily taken hostage by an injured SteVano (Stephen Nicols), who convinced her to patch him up and smuggle him to parts unknown.

Kate (Lauren Koslow) could have come clean about her knowledge of SteVano and Princess Gina’s (Kristian Alfonso) plans BEFORE she had to team up with Marlena (Deidre Hall), Hattie (also Deidre Hall) and Rafe (Galen Gering) to take the baddies down and rescue an imprisoned John (Drake Hogestyn) — at least she wouldn’t be in jail like she is now.

Had Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) been a little smarter, they would have found a better hiding spot than their old home on the DiMera estate. But we suppose the decision was based on nostalgia and the need to get Ben off that wounded leg as quickly as possible. At least Chad (Billy Flynn) promised to give them until morning to decamp.

And as for Gabi (Camila Banus), she would have had an interruption-free wedding if only she could have only stifled her need to revenge herself on the many people who wronged her — something that should have been easy since Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) was in need of a new pacemaker and Gabi could have simply allowed the implantation of a non-rigged device.

DAYS Musings

Abigail: “So you’re saying that my Uncle Steve has somehow been brainwashed into thinking that he’s Stefano?” Hattie: “No, no he doesn’t just think it…For all practical purposes, he IS your [Chad] father.” Abigail: “How is that even possible?”

In a word, and we’re just quoting Chad here, “Rolf!” Anytime, anytime there’s something strange going on in Salem, the most likely cause is Rolf (William Utay). Back from the dead loved ones? Rolf. Masks that can change face structure and the sound of a person’s voice? Rolf. Pacemakers with the power to kill its recipient…well, it’s not certain that one was Rolf’s but it’s more than likely, right?

Gabi: “Okay, hold on. So…okay. So Steve is Stefano, right? And then Hope is a princess. And you spoke to Steve, but he was actually your father…” Uh, yea Gabi. What’s so hard to understand?

Speaking of an imprisoned Princess Gina, when did she start rocking that chunky blond highlight — a signature of the once-living article — that was on prominent display during Thursday’s episodes?

Kayla: “Remember the first time? You were beaten so badly I had to take your patch off to clean the wounds.” SteVano: “At least you were able to fix me up over at the emergency center that time, huh?” Kayla: “It was in you’re basement apartment.”

For the uninitiated, said apartment was located inside the no longer featured bar/nightclub/ Shenanigans and it also once housed one Beauregard Aurelius Brady!

Kayla: “You are the only family that Jack has left.” Say what now? Did this sudser kill Jo Johnson — Jack’s (Matthew Ashford) biological mother — off-screen and forget to tell us? Or is it a case of poorly done research. Maybe what Kayla meant to say was that Steve was the only family Jack had left in tow?

Kayla: “Julie…is getting her pacemaker changed out today and I am doing the procedure.” SteVano: “But you’re not a cardiologist.” Great point! However, soaps have a nasty habit of making their doctors jack of all trades.

Lani: “Why would she go after Abigail, okay? Why would she go after me? Because she is insane JJ, that’s why.” Actually Lani, maybe it’s because Abigail (as her alternate personality, Gabby) caused Gabi to be imprisoned and robbed of the chance to ever have another child and when she was called out for actions she merely shrugged her shoulders and said, “Sorry, wasn’t me.” A heartfelt apology might have gone a long way.

John: “Just goes to show you Doc, no one, not Gina, Stefano, even Rolf or a pack of wild horses can keep us apart.” Marlena: “Yeah, we always find our way back to each other.” Jarlena — the epitome of relationship goals.

JJ: “Yeah, your face looks really familiar.” Chris: “Maybe I have a twin I don’t know about. It is Salem.” No truer words were spoken this week. Except maybe…

Abby: “I am going to the hospital to see if I can be a donor to baby Mickey.” Gabi: “Right, That’s a ridiculous name for a baby girl.” Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
