As of this week, the Days of Our Lives set is dark for the longest period in the soaps’ 51-year-history.
According to the Jason47 DAYS website, the soap just finished taping episodes for June, meaning it has so many hours in the can that it can afford to take a full two months off. Actors and crew are not set to return to work until January 16.
Earlier this year, DAYS went dark for five weeks and that was considered a long period of time. Two months is unprecedented.
Actress Mary Beth Evans posted her own farewell to work for the next few months.
