Since the 1980s, Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) fans have seen Steve Johnson with an eye-patch (except for that brief fake eye period).
In fact, when the character first appeared in Salem as a low-life thug working for a drug-dealing Savannah (Shannon Tweed), and her boss, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), he was simply known as… Patch.
Even all those years Steve was presumed dead, he was presumed dead…with a patch. But now, thanks to John (Drake Hogysten) trying to “save” Steve, his business partner is totally blind. (So, maybe now his name can be Cane?)
Are fans dying to see more, or would you rather shut your eyes to the entire thing? Almost 13,000 eyeballed the vote!
It’s a Stumble!
Steve (Stephan Nicholls) blind is mostly Steve…sitting. That’s not particularly riveting for 61% of you. Steve sits…he walks…he offers advice…he doesn’t realize that Abigail (Marci Miller) is Gabigail…he sits some more. What is he? Geriatric?
This is the man who faced down Nazis, and Victor, and Stefano, and death itself. He is way too young – and way too hot – to be put out to pasture this early. Give the man his eyesight back, and get him back into the action, ASAP!
We Want More!
Remember when Kim (Patricia Pease) was blind and Steve was hired to terrorize her? The one-eyed thug was fascinated by someone who couldn’t see at all. Now that it’s happened to him, 38% of you think there is plenty of story to be mined here. Only the show isn’t doing it.
You want to watch Steve – and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) – dealing with his handicap, and you want to see Steve employing his other senses to continue working with John. He can be a role model and stay on the front burner, as well. But, for that, he needs to do more than sit!
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
