Several months back, there was a casting call stating Days of Our Lives (DOOL) was looking for a well-known name for a character debuting this summer.
According to the Jason47 DAYS website, a former 80s primetime soap star was cast in the role, and he’s narrowed it down to four big names, saying one of them makes his or her appearance in a few months.
The choices are now Patrick Duffy (Dallas), Morgan Fairchild (Dallas, Flamingo Road, Paper Dolls), Joan Collins (Dynasty), and Donna Mills (Knot’s Landing).
Dayscafe.com claims a new diva arrives in town, which makes us believe the new cast member is Donna Mills, who won a Daytime Emmy two years ago for playing Madeline Reeves on General Hospital (GH).
Although Collins and Fairchild can easily play a daytime diva (and both have), our money is on Mills because she worked with Ron Carlivati on GH and he was the writer who created Madeline for her.
Carlivati’s head writing work starts airing this summer, so it makes sense he’d bring along an old friend who he’s written for before.
Now, who could Mills (or Fairchild or Collins, if we are wrong) play? Perhaps, she will be Ava’s mother, making her Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) grandmother.
Ava’s family has already been brought up, and although we haven’t seen Ava’s mom before, she could be out there and want to get to know a grandchild–or get revenge on the person who killed her daughter.
