Days of Our Lives alum Alison Sweeney dons an apron and sharpens her baking and investigative skills for the newest Hannah Swensen Mystery installment called A Sprinkle of Deceit. For the second movie in a row, Victor Webster stars opposite Sweeney’s Hannah Swensen. When General Hospital‘s Cameron Mathison moved on to Hallmark’s rival network, GAC, Webster, who’s also a DAYS alum, was cast. Now, he plays Chad, the prosecuting attorney who must get used to tangling with Hannah, who often finds clues before he and the cops can.
Sprinkle of Deceit happens to be the 10th movie in the popular Hannah Swensen murder mystery franchise that airs on Hallmark Mystery. Here’s what else you need to know about the movie, the franchise and the actors:
Alison Sweeney and Victor Webster are both DAYS alums and yes, they were on at the same time. She, of course, played Sami Brady (and is about to appear as Sami again). He starred as Nicholas Alamain from 1999-2000.
The Hannah Swensen Mystery movies are based on the book series that Joanna Fluke wrote and created. In the movies, Alison Sweeney, who’s also an executive producer of the franchise, plays Hannah Swensen, a professional baker and amateur sleuth who often stumbles upon murders. She ultimately uses her natural instincts, determination, and sometimes even her baking skills to help solve the crime. Another advantage she often relies on for help is her mother and sisters.

Viewers met Webster’s prosecuting attorney last spring when he debuted in the One Bad Apple Hannah Swensen Mystery. So far, Hannah and Chad have crossed paths often. Let’s just say he’s skeptical of her investigative talents, and based on the movie that introduced the character, Chad also doesn’t like sugar. How can someone admit that to a baker?
Regardless, there are sparks between Hannah and Chad. And in Sprinkle of Deceit, expect the two to drum up more sparks. Sweeney and Webster share a nice chemistry.
The Sprinkle of Deceipt synopsis and trailer:

For those who read the Hannah Swensen book series, this one’s based on Fluke’s Coconut Layer Cake Murder novel. A Sprinkle of Deceit: a Hannah Swensen Mystery premieres tonight at 9/8c on Hallmark Mystery.
