While rumors had been swirling for a while that Precious Way was out as Jackée Harry’s character, Paulina’s daughter Chanel on Days of our Lives. Now comes word of who the actress is, who the NBC soap tapped to replace Precious Way.
Raven Bowens Comes to Days of our Lives
According to the Jason47 Days of our Lives website, Raven Bowens has been hired by the NBC serial to take over the role of Chanel. Way originated the role back in March.
“Raven Bowens has joined the cast of Days of Our Lives, replacing Precious Way as the new Chanel Dupree,” read a post on Jason47’s Facebook page. “No confirmation yet when the change in actresses will take place, but the best guesstimate is late August/early September when Days started taping its new season.”
According to Jason47, “an eagle-eyed fan spotted Bowens in a Days dressing room photo.” Since arriving in Salem, Chanel has shared a kiss with Allie (Lindsay Arnold) and gotten married to Xander (Paul Telfer). She and Allie have plans to open a shop in Horton Square, selling donuts using the late Alice’s (Frances Reid) recipe.
Last September, it was reported that Way was cast alongside rap legend MC Lyte for the series Partners in Rhyme, which will be available on the AMC networks streaming service UMC. The actress posted on Instagram back on May 4 that they had just wrapped shooting Season 1.
Way will play Lucious T in the show that tells the story of an aspiring female high school rapper and social media star, who thinks she’s headed to the top! At press time, there’s no air date for either Partners in Rhyme or Bowens’ first day in Salem.
Not much is known yet about Bowens, however, she reveals in a post on her Instagram page that she’s from Southeast San Diego. “I come from the part where we ‘barely see the beach,'” the actress writes on her social media account.
Bown’s credits include the TV series All Rise, Insecure, Mr. Student Body President, the TV movie The Simone Biles Story: Courage to Soar, and Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader 4: Cheerleader Undercover. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
