Chloe Lane and Xander Cook haven’t had much reason to cross paths on Days of our Lives. He’s busy mooning over Sarah, stringing Gwen along, and dressing up like a clown. And she’s dealing with the demon seed that is Rachel — and her psycho mother.
Which is why, when Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) and Xander (Paul Telfer) briefly chatted in Horton Square earlier this week, we took notice. And we wondered if we saw a spark of something…more.
Oh, yeah, there were serious sparks, 14% of you cheer. And DAYS had better get on board and start exploring what they could mean. After all, Xander has just lost Sarah (Linsay Godfrey) — unaware that she’s pregnant with his child.
And he’s told Gwen (Emily O’Brien) he isn’t ready to move on yet — especially with her. And Chloe is about to lose Brady (Eric Marstolf) now that Leo (Greg Rikaart) has spilled the beans about her trash-talking Rachel — no matter how well-deserved it may have been. So why not put them together?
They should date, sure, 26% are willing to agree, but it should be for the sole purpose of making Brady and Gwen jealous. We don’t want to see them together long-term. But as a way to reunite Brady and Chloe, and Xander and Gwen (until Sarah comes back)? We’re all in!
But, in the end, a winning 60% of the audience only wants to see Xander and Chloe as friends — nothing more. They both have their hands full with difficult romantic relationships. Why add another complication? They can support each other as they fight to win back their true loves. They can trade underhanded, manipulative tips. But we’re talking brother/sister here. Nothing more. This is NOT a match made in Heaven. Or even Salem.
