Days of our Lives Father of the Year: Should Jack Reach Out to Gwen?

When Jack Deveraux found out that Gwen Rizczech was his daughter on Days of our Lives, he did his best to establish a relationship with her. He forgave her crime after crime — even crimes against his other daughter, Abigail Deveraux DiMera — but, eventually, it all got to be too much, and Jack cut Gwen out of his life.

Days of our Lives Polling

Although Jack (Matthew Ashford) chose not to have anything to do with Gwen (Emily O’Brien) a while back, she’s still his daughter, which might count for…something. Should he give her another chance? Soap Hub posed the question, and here’s what you answered.

DAYS Protect and Serve

Almost one-half of the audience, 49%, are unsure about this. You get where Jack is coming from in wanting to make up for Gwen’s tragic childhood. But he also needs to protect his family from her and her schemes. When Gwen wants something, she stops at nothing to get it. Jack already lost Abigail (Marci Miller). Shouldn’t he be keeping a closer eye on Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Cady McClain), who isn’t exactly one of Gwen’s favorite people, either?

DOOL You Have To Move On

Forget about her, 30% of voters urge. You’ve given her chance after chance after chance, Jack, and she’s blown every single one. Gwen has to want a relationship with you at least half as much as you want one with her. And while she pays lip service to that goal, everything she does proves otherwise. The woman is trouble, and you don’t need any more heartache.

Blood Is Thicker Than Days of our Lives Scheming

She’s your daughter, another 21% lecture, and it doesn’t matter what she does, you need to love her unconditionally. Yes, she’s a bad seed. Yes, she’s selfish and amoral and snarky. But she’s yours. At least, you believe that she is. Was there ever a paternity test done? And if it was done at Salem hospital, then how valid do we really think it is? But if you believe it, then you have to take everything that comes with it.

Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on Peacock+ in the U.S. and The W Network or Global TV App in Canada. For more about what’s coming up in Salem, check out all the latest that’s been posted on DAYS spoilers, and for an in-depth look at the show’s history, click here.
