It was a year filled with stellar work by a number of Days of Our Lives actors.
The loss of loved ones provided strong, emotional material for Billy Flynn and Arianne Zucker to play, as both Chad and Nicole had to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives and move on.
Meanwhile, Jen Lilley was forced to take Theresa down a dark path when her character’s past came back to haunt her, and she had to forsake the man she loved and her son. Soap Hub asked who was the standout star of 2016.

Of the over 4,500 who responded, 41% chose Jen Lilley. The actress’s turnaround from recovering drug addict and devoted mother to supposedly fallen junkie was mesmerizing.
You were particularly taken with how Lilley masked Theresa’s pain and inner conflict and lashed out at Brady, determined to make him believe she never truly cared for him. It was all in the name of love, because Theresa was desperate to protect her family from the evil Mateo.
Arianne Zucker
Nicole mourning Daniel and chastising Eric for killing him, helped garner 30% of the vote for Arianne Zucker. Not only did the character have to deal with losing her beloved fiancé, but also the fact that her friend and ex-boyfriend Eric murdered him when he drove drunk.
Nicole’s pain resonated with viewers for months, thanks to Zucker’s commanding work, as she tried to come to terms with the horrific accident that changed the course of her life.

Meanwhile, Chad’s mourning of his new bride, Abigail, earned Billy Flynn 28% of your votes. There’s not an actor on daytime who can evoke tears as effortlessly as Flynn and make you believe he’s coping with a real loss.
Watching him bond with his young son Thomas throughout it all only made his performance more heartrending.
Other DAYS Stars
The remaining 1% of fans thought numerous members of the DAYS cast deserved gold stars for their performances this year.
Kristian Alfonso was a name that was mentioned by many, who enjoyed her saga as Hope — from killing Stefano to covering up the crime to ultimately landing in jail. Throughout it all, you were impressed by her ability to keep the story real and give it her all.
