Philip Kiriakis bid farewell to Salem once again this week as John-Paul Lavoisier made his Days of Our Lives exit.
It was a rough year for Philip as he fell for both Belle and Chloe (again) and they both ended up rejecting him. He could never get in good with his father, encountered trouble from his long-lost Uncle Deimos at every turn, and even ended up kidnapped by Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) and injected with truth serum last week.
After a year like that, who can blame Philip for wanting to make a beeline out of his hometown as fast as he can?
Now, a goodbye and good luck tweet from A Martinez (Eduardo) leaves us wondering if he’ll be back after a short break.
Tomorrow, the wonderful John Paul Lavoisier takes leave of Salem – for now. #DOOL #ClassAct #ProsPro #likenobodyelse @nbcdays @SoapDigest

With DAYS taping about a half a year in advance, it’s not unusual for actors to leave and be back on set before their characters ever stop airing. Could that be true for Lavoisier?
