Peter Reckell recently celebrated a very special Days of Our Lives (DOOL) milestone — and the still-uber-popular actor knows exactly who he has to thank for his success.
It started with tweet from longtime DAYS scribe, Sheri Anderson. She acknowledged the 35th anniversary of the day Reckell began on the show all those years ago on May 3, 1983.
“Happy anniversary to half of one the most iconic super couples in daytime! Yes, I wrote their wedding and cried all way through the taping. Both as a couple, and individually, @peterreckell was one of my favorite characters and actors I’ve ever worked with.”
This, of course, touched the actor deeply so, after a long absence of posts on Twitter, it was great to see him answer her.
“Thanks for taking a chance on this pairing @sheriawriter !!! Bo and Hope would not have worked without the outstanding words on the page. Those [were] the DAYS!”
The actor added another tweet, acknowledging how lucky he was to have that job. Of course, fans know they are the ones who are lucky — having gotten to watch and fall in love with one of the greatest supercouples of all time.
Few pairs have captured the imaginations and hearts more than Bo and Hope (Kristian Alfonso). Viewers continue hoping that Reckell will change his mind and return to the show so magic can strike again. Guess we’ll have to just wait and see.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
