DAYS or B&B: Which Role Do You Like Patrika Darbo in More?

Actress Patrika Darbo was doing double duty on two daytime dramas. She played Chloe’s manipulative mother Nancy on Days of Our Lives, on and off, for years. Most recently, she popped up after her TV daughter gave birth to baby Holly.

However, since Patrika Darbo is not under contract with the NBC soap, she was available to tackle a brand new role on The Bold and the Beautiful: the late Sally Spectra’s sassy sister, Shirley. Which role do fans of the actress like more? Soap Hub posed that question in our poll, and here’s what you had to say.

Nancy Rules
DAYS fans have spoken, loudly and clearly, and 76% prefer Nancy. That was Darbo’s first daytime role, and you think it’s her best. You love the character when she’s lying and scheming. You love the character when she goes into fierce, protective mother mode, too. You just wish that the soap would bring her back full-time. Salem hasn’t been the same without her.

It’s A Toss Up
Some 12% of you like both of Darbo’s alter egos equally and don’t want to choose between the two. There are things about Nancy you love, like her mother-daughter bond with Chloe Nadia Bjorlin and the way she spices things up whenever she pops up on DAYS. However, Shirley is a hoot, too. Watching her scheme with Sally to revive Spectra Fashions and takedown Forrester Creations has totally livened up B&B.

Sweet on Shirley
Conniving Shirley received 12% of your votes. First and foremost, you’re happy to see Darbo in a front-burner storyline, again. She deserves it and is handling it with her usual flair. And Shirley’s bond with young Sally Courtney Hope and the rest of the Spectra gang has been spot on and entertaining. You want to see more of it.
