They are partners in fighting crime on Days of Our Lives (DOOL), but that’s not all they’re good at. They seem to be aces at lying to the women they love too.
Brothers in blue need to be there for each other but these two detectives have far more in common than they realized. Sure, Eli (Lamon Archey) is dating Rafe’s (Galen Gering) sister Gabi (Camila Banus) but that’s not all that’s bound them together. These two supposedly honorable men have something less attractive in common.
They have both cheated on the women they love — and then lied about it. What is up with that?! You would think they’d know better than anyone else that nothing good ever comes of lying. Not only that, cops are supposed to have courage but these two have shown to be nothing but cowards.
Yes, Eli took a huge step forward today when he decided (after seeing Rafe’s lie send his wedding down in flames) to come clean with Gabi about having cheated on her — but then he chickened out of telling her the whole story.
He will say he did it because it could have blown apart Lani (Sal Stowers) and JJ’s (Casey Moss) relationship, but do we really buy that?
After all, the one thing Gabi said she wanted in order to give him a second chance was for him to tell her there were no more secrets between them. And he totally lied to her that he wasn’t the baby’s father!
Rafe is no better. He let Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) daughter lie for him and keep his sordid secret of sleeping with Sami (Alison Sweeney) from her mother. This is a member of the community that Salemites are supposed to look up to?
While sleeping with Sami was technically forgivable since they were “on a break”, Rafe’s actions since might not be — and that is what Hope is wrestling with. And, who can blame her? Will either of these men learn anything from what’s happened? It’s not looking likely — and that’s the real crime here.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
