Former Days of Our Lives (DOOL) star Arianne Zucker was thrust into the political spotlight last October when a tape surfaced of President Donald Trump (then just a candidate) making what many consider lewd and inappropriate sexual comments on an Access Hollywood bus on its way to meet Zucker for Trump’s DAYS cameo.

Over the last few days, first The Hill reported President Trump is privately claiming the video was a fake, and then The New York Times reported sources saying the same thing.

Zucker found this claim to be puzzling and said as much on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 on Monday night. While she admitted she wasn’t there on the bus with President Trump and reporter Billy Bush when much of the commentary was made, she did see the bus as she waited to greet the man who would go on to become president.

“I do know that I was there, working, doing my job, and the whole point was to welcome the Access Hollywood bus and give Billy Bush and Trump a tour, and then Trump was on our show–on Days of Our Lives.”

In the tape’s audio while still on the bus, Bush and Trump saw Zucker from afar and Trump said he might need a Tic Tac cause he could have an uncontrollable urge to kiss her, which he said was common for him.

“You’re mic’d and it’s recording as you’re driving in. I don’t know how else that can be fake,” Zucker said.

Even after the tape was released last year, Trump went on TV live and admitted he said it. Suddenly, reports indicate he’s now walking that claim back.

Zucker related that reports of him saying it was fake have taken her by surprise.

“Having it come full circle, haven’t we moved on? Let’s just take responsibility for our actions and I really truly believe if you’re honest with yourself and you’re honest with the people around you, the repercussions are less because people…appreciate your honesty and they’re going to move forward with you instead of against you.

“As a mother, as a friend, as a daughter, as a community member, I really would hope that someone in such a high position could teach us a few things, which would be respect, honor, trust, and not to go back.

“I am a mom and if I come home and I’m constantly telling different stories to my daughter, how do you think I am going to raise her…Is she going to tell the truth on a daily basis or is she going to go, ‘Wow, my mom kinda finagles stories here and there so I guess I can too.”
