With Eric out of jail and Nicole breaking things off with Deimos (we hope for good) on Days of Our Lives, that leaves the door open for an Eric and Nicole romance once again, right?
Not so fast. According to Arianne Zucker in the February 27 issue of TV Guide, a new Eric and Nicole pairing does not seem likely at all.
“Nicole wants him dead,” Zucker states in no uncertain terms. “I think she really would kill Eric if she got the chance.”
Zucker claims that Daniel (Shawn Christian) is the one love who gave Nicole happiness without all the angst that accompanied her on-again/off-again, through-the-decades relationship with Eric.
“The grief she feels over losing Daniel–who brought her the only true happiness she’s had in years–is unimaginable. She just can’t let it go. DAYS can get kinda kooky, but this pain Nicole feels is raw and real. It brings a lot of truth to the show.”
Of course, Zucker acknowledges a happy character is a boring character.
“I’ll take the tragedy,” she says. “Besides, if you want happiness, no one should move to Salem.”
She might be right on that one. As Nicole, Arianne Zucker is constantly turning on the waterworks and her character will revert to form next week when she kidnaps her own daughter, despite Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) having custody of the baby. Always impulsive and always wanting a child, this story is right up Nicole’s alley.
