Xander and Philip are Back to Being Co-CEOs After the December 17 Days of Our Lives…Is Titan in Trouble?

Why can’t Philip and Xander just be happy with 50/50?

The judge in Xander and Philip’s hearing handed them her decision. She split the baby King Solomon-style. This means that after the Tuesday, December 17 episode of Days of Our Lives, the half brothers rule over 50 percent of Titan. Welcome back to being co-CEOs, boys! After these two get through with each other, will there even be a headquarters standing, or will it all become a pile of rubble?

Xander Versus Philip, Part Deux

While Justin (Wally Kurth) relied on the facts of the case, Belle (Martha Madison) resorted to maneuvers. First, she got ahead of Philip’s supreme shadiness by giving the judge a clean bill of mental health from Philip’s doctor. That explained away the money laundering and the fake death of it all.

Second, she preyed on Xander’s recent bad behavior. She brought up something that was completely hearsay courtesy of Brady (Eric Martsolf). She questioned Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) about Xander (Paul Telfer) attempting to murder Brady. Sarah and Justin wisely played the spousal immunity card. However, it was just enough to bring up the topic.

The judge didn’t take long to make her ruling. She took the fair route, giving each brother fifty percent. In a non-dysfunctional family, everybody would be happy. But this is the Kiriakis clan, and they are extremely far from being your average family. Sure, Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) pretended to be magnanimous about the whole thing, saying Victor (the late John Aniston) would want them to get along. But that will never happen. Plus, he got a couple of digs in at Xander’s expense.

By the end of the episode, Philip basks in his win and kisses Stephanie (Abigail Klein), which will surely upset cousin Alex (Robert Scott Wilson). As for Xander, he made a vow to Victor’s portrait. “Sorry, old man, but playing nice with my loathsome snake of a brother, that’s not happening. So I’m going to find a way to oust Philip from Titan if it’s the last thing I do.”

Maybe what Belle said will come true. She worries that one of them won’t make it out alive, which is a fair assessment.

The Future of Titan

So, will any work actually get done until the dust settles and either Xander or Philip is no longer a co-CEO? If that’s the case, then Titan is in trouble.

And which Xander is going to be entering this fight? Is it the one that uses more legal-ish means to get the job done? Coming up with a way for Philip’s attorney to quit was a nice, safe move. Unfortunately, the guy who made the vow might go dark like he did with Brady and use violent tactics.

When all Xander needs to do is discover that the letter Philip based his whole case on was forged. Seems like Xander needs to get himself to Statesville to talk to Vivian (Louise Sorel). For the right incentive, she could talk.

Meanwhile, is it wrong to think that it would be great to see Xander and Philip team up to take down DiMera Enterprises? After all, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) tried to acquire Titan underhandedly. Turnabout is fair play.

What did you think of how things played out in the Xander and Philip hearing? What’s your snap judgment about Stephanie and Philip’s kiss? Yay, or Nay? Who thinks Johnny (Carson Boatman) needs to come clean with Chanel (Raven Bowens) sooner rather than later?
