During this latest phase of Stephanie Johnson on Days of Our Lives, it’s difficult to know who she is other than a PR specialist who loves her parents. Some of this is because she’s gone from one man to another. In the Tuesday, October 1 episode, she mentioned something that we think she needs to do seriously, but we know she won’t.
“What I need to do is take a break from relationships in general.”
Stephanie (Abigail Klein) really needs to listen to the words she uttered to Jada (Elia Cantu) because, well, her dating life is a disaster. Ever since she returned to Salem, all we know of her is how she is when she’s in a relationship. Sure, she’s a caring individual, but she loses herself with the man she’s dating.
Furthermore, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson), Chad (Billy Flynn), and Everett (Blake Berris) don’t feel like the love of her life, a true soap opera soulmate. And that’s why they haven’t lasted. First, Alex was too immature to be in a relationship. Second, Chad was too fresh off the tragedy of losing his wife to be in a relationship. Third, Everett!Bobby was too messed up to be in a relationship.

That’s why Stephanie needs to stop and take a breather. A love hiatus would be good for her and good for the fans. Instead, she fantasizes about Alex and gravitates towards him again now that he is slightly more mature. However, she should truly see that he’s focusing on this new venture, playing Arrow on Body & Soul. Plus, he’s dealing with the remnants of the Theresa (Emily O’Brien) disaster he experienced not that long ago.
Every soap character should weather a love hiatus at one point or another. DAYS needs to give Stephanie something else to do other than fall in love. That route is currently not working for her. Of course, we used to say the same thing about Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and look what happened to him. Maybe we shouldn’t use him as an example.

The Body & Soul of it all continues to be a major focus of the show. In Tuesday’s episode, Seth Burns (Ken Colquitt), the hospital administrator, approved the production filming at the hospital under one condition. As long as they gave him a role on the show, he was good with Body & Soul shooting hospital scenes, in this case, Cassandra (Judi Evans) and her sudden illness, thanks to Hattie’s (Deidre Hall) ultimatum.
However, did you all catch the name of Seth’s B&S character? His name was Dr. Blake Lamoray, which is a play on Joey Tribbiani’s DAYS character on Friends, Dr. Drake Ramoray. Joey’s fictional soap doctor was named after Drake Hogestyn. Not going to lie. This coming so soon after Hogestyn’s death was jarring, to say the least.
