In the Friday, February 28 episode of Days of Our Lives, Sophia and Doug III engaged in lies and deceit, which will not end well for anybody involved.
How Doug III Made Things Worse
Doug III (Peyton Meyer) disappointed us in Friday’s episode. We thought he was feeling appropriately remorseful, and maybe he is, but then why would he gaslight Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes)? Julie told him about the letter she received from her brother, Steven Olson (Stephen Schnetzer). He swore on the memory of Tom and Alice that he didn’t steal the necklace, and she believed him.
Doug immediately wanted to know if Julie suspected anyone else. He brought up the fact that some people in the family think he stole the necklace and asked if she thought the same. Of course, she told him she didn’t. But who knows, maybe now she will.

Doug’s doubling down on lies and deceit to hide the fact that he stole the time capsule necklace was a horrible thing to do. Also, his lies have gone on long enough. There’s no way he’s going to be able to raise the money to buy it back. He needs to come clean and face the consequences. That’s the only way he’ll be able to redeem himself.
How Sophia Made Things Worse
Sophia’s (Rachel Boyd) lies were much less nefarious than Doug’s deceit. However, they’re about to make things awkward for Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) when they face Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielsen) at lunch.
Sophia knew she had to give her mom the hard sell regarding Johnny and Chanel, who want to adopt Tate (Leo Howard) and Sophia’s baby. However, right off the bat, they obviously don’t belong to the Choi’s Korean Church. And they’re actually not super religious at all. So Sophia knew she had to entice her mom with some little white lies. But these lies will surely backfire.
Johnny and Chanel will now have to lie to up their Christian values game. Chanel will also have to add the leader of the Chuch choir to her to-do list.

However, the fact that Mrs. Choi is even considering adoption for Tate and Sophia is a big deal. But she also seems like a woman who can suss out lies. If she can’t outwardly tell that they’re lying, she’d dig deep, vet Johnny and Chanel, and find out for herself.
Johnny and Chanel are a solid couple…now. However, they recently experienced a hiccup in their marriage. It should work to their advantage that Paulina (Jackée Harry) is Salem’s mayor. But a million bonus points against them because Johnny is a DiMera. And, oh yeah, the Devil once possessed Johnny! Devil possessions seem to be a matter of record in Salem. Chad (Billy Flynn) just told Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) about Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) two-time bout with Satan the other day.
This can’t end well.
