Ava enlisted Steve’s Black Patch skills to help her track down the identity of the person who had been sending threatening texts via a burner phone. While she remained in the dark, viewers discovered the identity of her mysterious texter in the Thursday, December 26 episode of Days of Our Lives.
The Burner Phone Texting Culprit
Until now, most signs pointed toward Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) until you really broke down what was happening. Ava (Tamara Braun) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) went on a date that was supposed to involve going to The Nutcracker. Unfortunately, Brady’s tickets disappeared, and Ava’s Wi-Fi went out when they attempted to watch a movie on TV.
However, tickets disappearing from Brady’s jacket pocket and a series of simply worded texts seemed too small to be Kristen’s doing. When she decides to sabotage, she goes big or goes home.
At the end of Thursday’s episode, after seeing Steve (Stephen Nichols) attempt to assist Ava in finding out the location of the burner phone, we found out who was behind the threatening messages. As suspected, it was Kristen’s mini-me daughter, Rachel (Finley Rose Slater).

Credible Threat
Rachel isn’t just another kid. She’s highly intelligent, and she’s undoubtedly spied her mom doing her worst. Not to mention all the times Kristen taps into her shady side in front of Rachel.
After all, she sees her mom manipulating her dad all the time. Kristen used Brady’s worst moments to get sole custody of their daughter. She continually punishes Brady by restricting access to Rachel despite her daughter’s feelings. And in Thursday’s episode, she even mentioned how she overheard her mom working out her issues by talking to Stefano’s portrait.
Kristen can’t hide her dark side. It’s hard to contain. It’s just her. And that is bound to rub off on her daughter. After all, Brady said it. She isn’t into jewelry. Rachel is into snakes, and she adored her birthday present from her dad: frozen rats that served as food for her snake, Edgar.
And if she knows how to secure a burner phone and turn off Ava’s Wi-Fi, we don’t doubt that Rachel can Google, which means she could be privy to many of her mother’s most heinous crimes. Rachel’s texts have now escalated. She’s gone from “Stay away from Brady” to “Stay away from Brady…OR ELSE!”

Threat Escalation
Yes, it’s still a simple message, but the “or else” does escalate things. This means that this situation is about to progress from passive texts to aggressive actions. And while her initial acts of sabotage were harmless, who knows if that will continue? She has learned from the very best psycho in town.

Ava and Brady need to watch out — especially Ava. Steve pinpointing the burner phone to the DiMera mansion just means that they will still think Kristen is the culprit. Who will figure out Rachel’s behind it? If her mom does, then she might exploit the progress Rachel has made instead of stopping it. The two working together would be downright dangerous.
How far do you think Rachel will go to break up Brady and Ava? The girl seems super determined, after all.
