Stephanie told Sarah the truth. She broke up with Philip after overhearing him discuss the forged letter with Kate. Yes, Philip is a fraud. She knows it, and now Sarah does, too. However, in the Monday, January 13 episode of Days of Our Lives, it’s what Sarah did with that truth that will presumably have consequences.
Xander’s Recent History
The first thing Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) did after finding out the truth from Stephanie (Abigail Klein) was to hightail it over to Titan, where she confronted Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Kate (Lauren Koslow). She said she wanted to know why he did what he did, but the smart thing for her marriage was to go home and tell Xander (Paul Telfer) everything.

However, recent history understandably had Sarah rethinking telling her husband what she had learned. She knows his past, and she has come to terms with it. She sees that he has changed for the love of his family. But she also knows that he can revert back to his menacing ways at a moment’s notice.
Just look at what happened recently during the drunk driving fiasco when he kept going after Brady (Eric Martsolf). Later, he was this close to offing Philip. Sure, Philip put a gun in Xander’s hands, but Xander shot it. He didn’t know it was empty.

Sarah’s Secret
Philip allegedly spoke from his heart to sway Sarah and prevent her from telling Xander the truth. But, in the end, Sarah didn’t tell her husband about the forged letter for different reasons.
First, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) got Xander to promise to play nice. Nobody wants a family war. Second, what really got Sarah thinking was when Philip brought up Xander’s plan to resort to criminal methods to enact a hostile takeover of DiMera. Third, she knows that Revenge Mode Xander could ultimately result in him doing something against the law. This could end up with him in jail and separated from his family.

She needs Xander to be there for Victoria. So, she must think she’s preserving her family by not telling her husband the truth about Philip being a fraud. What’s interesting here is that, for once, it’s not Xander who’s keeping a secret or doing something shady to protect their family. Sarah is the one. So when Xander finds out she kept the truth from him, how will he react?
