Two Unwelcome Guests Make Thanksgiving Awkward on the November 27 Days of Our Lives

What’s Thanksgiving without awkward moments? On this Thanksgiving Eve, November 27 episode of Days of Our Lives, two surprise guests threaten to make things awkward. One more so than the other, however.

No Turkey for Joy

Johnny (Carson Boatman) ran into Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) in Horton Town Square before the DiMera Thanksgiving dinner. Joy, unfortunately, had to break the news that she spilled all about their one-night stand to Alex (Robert Scott Wilson), of all people. Of course, Johnny wondered what in the world she was thinking. And, of course, a super friendly Chanel (Raven Bowens) inadvertently made things worse when she walked up and invited Joy to said DiMera Thanksgiving.

When Chanel and Johnny both conveniently head back to the car, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) instantly put Joy on notice. It was pretty delicious and very on-brand for EJ. He told Joy he knew what went down between her and his son. And then he told her where to go. She needed to leave town a.s.a.p. Don’t pass go, and do not collect $200.

Then, when she presented a weak argument, EJ was ready. He’s the greatest lawyer in the world, so he’ll help her break her Body & Soul contract and pay her handsomely for her trouble. Just go.

Will it be this easy to dispense of Joy? Doubt it, but EJ will try his hardest. We appreciate that, considering that Chanel talked to Paulina (Jackée Harry) earlier in the episode about forgiving Johnny. And she mentioned that at least he didn’t cheat on her. Yikes.

Leo’s Interruption Provides a Drama Amuse Bouche

Lonely Leo (Greg Rikaart) couldn’t help but feel down about what he had done to Javi (Al Calderon). He attempted to make amends with the guy, but that didn’t go anywhere. The newest Hernandez on the block wanted nothing to do with him.

After talking to Alex in front of The Pub, Leo focused his attention on sussing out the new — faux — Lady Whistleblower. And conveniently, that meant heading over to Rafe’s house. Moments before Leo’s arrival, we learned that Rafe (Galen Gering) already got a new job.

As suspected by many DAYS viewers, Rafe will now work at Black Patch with Steve (Stephen Nichols). And that was good because Leo was on a mission. He walked in on Jada (Elia Cantu), Rafe, Javi, and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez), even though he wasn’t exactly welcome.

He found out off-screen that Steve hired Rafe to work at Black Patch. Now, Leo wants to hire him to find the identity of the new Lady Whistleblower.

What made this an awkward conversation was the fact that earlier, Javi had pointed out that working the same cases might cause friction for the newly engaged Jada and Rafe. We’ll see how that all plays out as Rafe dusts off his private dick skills for his first Black Patch case.
