The Days of our Lives Twist That Could Put Two Fired General Hospital Actors Back To Work

With so many beloved Salemites returning to Days of our Lives soon, there’s another forgotten couple who could see two familiar faces from Port Charles head to Salem.

Bye Port Charles

General Hospital recently said goodbye to Michael Easton after Finn entered a three-month stint in rehab to help his alcohol addiction. While the character has often been mentioned by his family and friends, there’s been no word on if or when he may return home.

Then there’s Kelly Monaco, who after 21 years playing Sam, will soon be exiting the soap after GH let her go despite her fans’ creative endeavors to keep her on the show.

Always A Supercouple

Long before he played Finn (or Silas or Caleb or McBain) on GH, one of Easton’s first acting credits was as Tanner on DAYS, a role he held from 1990-1992. GH actors hopping from Port Charles to Salem is nothing new, with Steve Burton (Jason, GH) reviving his DAYS character in 2022 after being let go from GH in 2021, while both Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny, GH) and the late Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas, GH) have assumed the role of Stefan.

During Tanner’s time in Salem, he worked at a night club called Wings (formerly Doug’s Place), where he met fellow employee, Molly. The pair wound up searching for Molly’s missing mom and entering into a romance that lasted past the two leaving Salem together.

Molly was originally played by Shannon Sturges, but could easily be recast with Monaco if she were to debut on DAYS alongside Easton. This would be far from the first time these two demonstrated their on-screen chemistry, previously when Sam dated Silas, and originally on Port Charles as Livvie and Caleb.

Easton recently joined GH star Maurice Benard on his State of Mind podcast and talked about getting his start on daytime on DAYS. While there’s been no word on Monaco’s plans post-Port Charles, it’s easy to assume the other remaining soaps are hoping to scoop her talent up.
