In a year of new romances, big returns, and major goodbyes, it was the villains who took center stage on daytime in 2024. From Salem’s latest serial killer to a Forrester-grown lunatic, here are the top villains and villainesses in soaps this year.

Connie (Days of our Lives)

While many major villains graced Salem this year, from Konstantin’s (ex-John Kapelos) antics to Sophia’s (Madelyn Kientz) hold on Tate (Leo Howard), the villain who showed up and showed out the most was, without a doubt, Connie (ex-Julie Dove).

Connie’s reign of terror started in late 2023 when she was revealed to be Li’s (ex-Remmington Hoffman) murderer. But each time someone came close to closing in on “Killer Connie,” she would attempt to eliminate the threat. Not only did she stab Rafe (Galen Gering) in the back, sending him into a months-long coma, but she poisoned Melinda (Tina Huang) and held her and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) hostage in the DiMera tunnels alongside a ticking bomb.

Cyrus (General Hospital)

This is far from the first time Cyrus (Jeff Kober) has been Port Charles’ top villains, but this year takes the cake after learning that he was behind Sam’s (ex-Kelly Monaco) devastating death. After sneaking into her hospital room and injecting her with digitalis that led to her fatal heart attack, it turns out she may not be his only victim.

Not that Dex (ex-Evan Hofer) died from an unexpected heart attack and Sonny (Maurice Benard) seemingly has a heart problem, is Cyrus on a serial killing rampage?

Luna (The Bold and the Beautiful)

Move over, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), The Forresters’ have a new top villains this year. When Luna (Lisa Yamada) first arrived at FC, she was the sweet, innocent girlfriend to R.J. (Joshua Hoffman).

Things already took a turn for Luna when she “accidentally” wound up in bed with Zende (Delon De Metz), but the real shocker came when Luna went from likeable to lunatic. This young villainess not only killed her birth father and Hollis (ex-Hollis W. Chambers) and framed her mother for it all, but later held Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) hostage in a cage, a final act that sent her straight to prison.

Jordan (The Young and the Restless)

Jordan (Colleen Zenk) has been wreaking havoc on Genoa City all year, starting with her hold on Claire (Hayley Erin) after kidnapping her from Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and convincing her to kill The Newmans.

Her wrath has only gotten worse after she resurfaced alongside Ian (Ray Wise). Now that this nefarious villain is back in town, there’s no telling what this evil dream team has in store.
