On the November 24 episode of Days of Our Lives, Gwen broke the bad news to EJ: Leo is too in love with Javi to go off on a wild goose chase for Dimitri. Which means he’ll remain in Salem… and continue to dig into Tony’s disappearance, Kristen’s alleged jailbreak, and whatever else EJ is up to. EJ couldn’t have that. So he ordered Gwen to change their circumstances. By any means necessary.
Key Takeaways
- Leo won’t leave town as long as he has Javi.
- Leo and Javi must be broken up.
- Gwen knows exactly how to get between the happy couple.
A New Man
Leo (Greg Rikaart) used to chase any man unfortunate enough to cross his path. He tortured and blackmailed Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Zach Tinker), and he slept with BFF Gwen’s (Emily O’Brien) husband, Dimitri (Peter Porte), even as she burbled on about how happy she was for the first time in her life.
But now, we’re supposed to believe Leo has become a one-man man, thanks to the gorgeous, sweet, and heroic Javi (Al Calderon). We get it. Javi is a catch. We completely understand how anyone could fall in love with Javi. What we struggle to believe is that Leo can be faithful… to anyone.
Tool Time
We suspect Gwen feels the same way. She knows that no matter how good a game he talks — and talking is about the only thing Leo does well, in the end — he can be tempted. If not by the missing Dimitri, then by someone else.
EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) had ordered Gwen to think of a way to get Leo out of Salem. He won’t leave as long as Javi is there. Which means Gwen’s next order of business is to get rid of Javi. And that means getting Leo to cheat on the latest love of his life.

Faith and Hope
Sure, sure, Leo is faithful now. But what if he’s led to believe that Dimitri is still pining for him? Leo won’t be able to resist that. And what’s the best way for Gwen to make sure Leo finds out this untrue development?
Why, it’s to act as if the last thing she wants is for Leo to find out this development. Leo sees himself as an intrepid reporter. If he thinks someone is holding out on him, he’ll go out of his way to find out what it is. And once Gwen allows him to discover — totally for himself; Leo wasn’t following the breadcrumbs Gwen systematically left for him — that Dimitri still holds a torch for him, well, Leo will have to run off to see for himself… leaving Javi in the lurch. Javi will peace out, and Leo will have no choice but to keep tracking Dimitri… away from Salem.
