On the December 1 episode of Days of our Lives, Holly let Maggie and Sarah know that she was taking a job working for Stephanie, or, rather, Anastasia Sands, managing her social media, her fan mail, and dealing with “Anastasia’s” admirers. Maggie and Sarah made a point of asking if the position might be risky or dangerous, and Holly assured them that it wouldn’t be risky or dangerous at all. Which can only mean one thing: Holly and Stephanie are about to face some risks and danger.

Key Takeaways

  • Stephanie is a star.
  • Stars have stalkers.
  • Stephanie and Holly are about to be stalked.

Point Guard

We’ve wondered from the beginning what the point of Stephanie’s (Abigail Klein) out-of-nowhere writing career was. She kept it a secret. And then she didn’t keep it a secret. Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) pressured her into publishing. She did. Nothing bad happened.

Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) learned that their sweet baby girl had written erotica. Nothing horrible happened. Jeremy (Michael Roark) recognized himself in Stephanie’s book, came to Salem, and, as far as we know, nothing horrible happened. So will anything horrible happen? Will anything happen, period?

Silk Stalkings

Considering how much time Holly (Ashley Puzemis) spent assuring Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) that her new role dealing with Stephanie’s fans was risk-free, we can feel confident that we’re headed straight into crazy stalker territory.

You know the movie, Misery? Like that. Or maybe The Fan. Or Play Misty For Me. Or All About Eve. Or The Bodyguard. Or The Crush.

The point is, there are many tales to take inspiration from. (Let’s not forget Abe [James Reynolds] being held prisoner by a woman obsessed with “Body and Soul.” Salem is not a well-balanced town!)

Point Taken

Will an obsessed tan stalking Stephanie finally be the plot point to make her out-of-nowhere writing career story worth it? Will it give Holly something to do rather than whine about how her and Tate’s (Leo Howard) relationship isn’t perfect every minute of every day?

And how cool would it be if the stalker turned out to be Bonnie (Judi Evans)? Why not? She’s already outed herself as a huge Anastasia Sands fan? And she’s not the most stable. What if she decides to turn fiction into reality… by trapping Anastasia and her assistant for Bonnie’s very own?
