Susan Seaforth Hayes has had a plethora of co-stars during her decades on Days of our Lives. Ahead of the 60th anniversary of the hit Peacock soap, Hayes took time to gush over two of her favorite co-stars, Lamon Archey and Sal Stowers.

Speaking with Michael Fairman TV to look back on DAYS in honor of the milestone celebration, Hayes (Julie) took time to speak out about her relationship with Archey (Eli). Hayes admitted she enjoyed having Eli and her brother Steven (Stephen Schnetzer) back for the gala to celebrate the Tom Horton (Macdonald Carey) Free Clinic.
During the talk, Hayes couldn’t hide her love for Archey, whom she referred to as “beautiful” inside and out. The two grew close while working together on several storylines, since it was revealed that Eli is her grandson.
Hayes also revealed that when her husband, Bill Hayes (Doug), died, Archey gave the most touching gift.
“Lamon gave me a wind chime that says, ‘Every time this plays, remember me,’ for Billy, and it hangs in my garden. And whenever I go by it, I thank him again,” she expressed.
It’s not just Archey that Hayes praised. She couldn’t speak about him without gushing over his on-screen partner, Stowers (Lani).
“I’m always happy to see him back on the show with Sal, who is also just a walking and talking goddess of beauty, charm, and talent. I love that couple. I love that they’re on the show,” Hayes stated.
The feeling is mutual as Archey left several heart emojis on the video of Hayes’ kind words that was posted to Michael Fairman TV’s official Instagram page.
Eli and Lani don’t live in Salem anymore, but they continue to pop back in when Stowers and Archey’s schedule allows. Not going to lie, we love a good Eli and Julie scene and hope to see them back in the mix soon, perhaps for the holidays.
