In the Tuesday, July 29 episode of Days of Our Lives, Johnny’s trial started with Belle and EJ’s opening arguments. It became clear that EJ’s strategy is to throw everybody he can under the bus in order to throw suspicion off of Johnny. Meanwhile, Philip guessed that Stephanie wrote that future Anastasia Sands bestseller. And Stephanie and Jada discussed why Stephanie didn’t want to open the package that arrived for her.
Jada Urges Her Roommate to Open the Package
Stephanie (Abigail Klein) still hasn’t opened the package that arrived for her. Before heading to the courthouse to testify, Jada (Elia Cantu) urges her to, but Stephanie isn’t budging. She thinks it’s from one of her exes and is acting really weird about it. She has an idea about who sent it to her, but she insists on ignoring it.
Eventually, she does open it, and it’s a tote bag she ordered that she forgot about. So she overreacted to getting the mysterious package. But what is this all about?

Old Boyfriends Might See Themselves in One Stormy Night
At The Pub, Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) discuss One Stormy Night. Philip thinks the romance novel will be a success, but he also wants to know who wrote it. Kate refuses to tell him, but it doesn’t matter. He knows.
Stephanie ripped some of the situations straight from her life, including Philip. He definitely recognized himself in the book. And if he did, then other past boyfriends may as well.
Meanwhile, after Stephanie opened the package and realized she had worried over nothing, she told Jada that her mind had gone there because of her novel. The scenarios in the book were loosely based on real-life events — events she wanted to stay in the past.

Can Her Past Stay the Past?
Now we vaguely know why Stephanie has been so reluctant to approve of Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) publishing her novel. But how does the PR exec think she will keep this stuff in the past if the novel is set to hit the stands? Philip read the galleys, and he recognized himself. He didn’t know Stephanie had written the book at the time.

How many of Stephanie’s boyfriends are reflected in One Stormy Night? And, more importantly, who is the specific one she is thinking about? Someone is on her mind because she jumped to the conclusion that he had sent that package.
Right now, Alex and Stephanie are smooth sailing and nothing seems to be coming for them. But now, should we expect another old boyfriend of hers to pop up in Salem and create an obstacle for Alex and Stephanie?
