June 2024 was a month filled with big performances from top-notch actors. Talented cast members from Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless gave truly heartfelt, heartbreaking, and heart-lifting performances.
For the last week, soap fans voted on the best of the best performances of the month. The results of Soap Hub‘s favorite performer polls are in, and here’s who won for each show.
On DAYS, four actors dug deep to play the turmoil and heartbreak of their circumstances. The nominees included Judith Chapman, who made an unforgettable one-day appearance as Leo’s disappointing mother, Diana. Raven Bowens played Chanel’s anguish after miscarrying her baby. Greg Rikaart angsted over the drama of Leo’s mama issues, and Greg Vaughan’s Eric continued to shoulder the pain and loss of yet another child.
You voted, and while Vaughan came out on top in May, Rikaart edged out his co-star for June. He won over DAYS fans as Leo worked with Marlena (Deidre Hall) to tackle his low self-esteem and deep feelings of loneliness and unlovability. Rikaart especially was fantastic in his scenes with Chapman.
On General Hospital, three actors dealt with grief from a sudden loss in their lives. The other dealt with losing status and potentially custody of her daughter. The nominees included Michael Easton (Finn), Jane Elliot (Tracy), Jophielle Love (Violet), and Maura West (Ava).
Easton earned the top spot for the second month in a row. The actor narrowly slipped past Elliot for the win. Easton used everything he had to embody a doctor who lost his dad, his girlfriend, and his job but still didn’t reach rock bottom until his bad behavior affected his daughter. The actor departed the show with some of the best performances of his GH career.
B&B nominees for June included Lisa Yamada (Luna), whose character found out her biological dad was Bill Spencer (or so she thought). As Hope, Annika Noelle managed her new feelings for Steffy’s husband Finn (Tanner Novlan) and her old feelings for a returned Thomas.
Clint Howard hilariously navigated the world of Il Giardino, Sheila’s past, and the big reveal that he is Luna’s dad. Finally, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood’s Steffy worried about her husband’s conflicting feelings for his bio mom, expressed anger over Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) position at Forrester, and gloated over Thomas’s (Matthew Atkinson) quick engagement to Paris (Diamond White).
June’s overwhelming victor on B&B was Noelle. Hope’s emotions were all over the place as she experienced high stress, tension, and inappropriate daydreams. And Noelle played it all beautifully.
Corporate shenanigans and mental health struggles ruled Genoa City in June. As a result, several actors took their material and ran with it. The nominees for the June Y&R performer of the month included Susan Walters (Diane), Christel Khalil (Lily), Mark Grossman (Adam), and Beth Maitland (Traci).
Maitland handily defeated her co-stars as the Y&R Performer of the Month of June 2024. In Paris, Traci fiercely supported Ashley (Eileen Davidson, April and May’s Performer of the Month) as she learned what happened to cause her sister’s psyche to shatter. We saw Traci deal with the fallout after Ashley checked herself into the mental health facility. At the same time, Traci developed a potential romantic connection with Alan (Christopher Cousins). Maitland’s natural ability to play each emotion, including terror, worry, awkwardness, and joy, shined through.
