EJ’s reign as Salem DA would be more enjoyable if he backed up his charges and claims with hard evidence that would hold up in a court of law. In the Thursday, September 12 episode of Days of Our Lives, EJ tried to leverage Kristen into throwing Brady under the bus. As usual, he came up short. Doesn’t he know his DiMera sister at all?

Build a Strong Case

Here’s a tip for EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel): Hire an investigator to find Brady’s car that she had demolished. We’ve seen the primetime legal procedurals. Many of those shows have investigators on staff or on retainer. They are counted on to dig up the goods of the criminals they’re trying to bust. (Check out what happened on DAYS Wednesday)

EJ, it’s not enough for you to accuse Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) based on obvious hearsay. That’s not going to get you anywhere. Before accusing Kristen, maybe hire a PI — Black Patch or a new, interesting, and quirky character — to dig into Kristen’s whereabouts and bank accounts.

And then come at Kristen with hard evidence and a case she can’t slither away from like she’s done so many times in the past. She collects immunity deals, and she knows how to evade the police. Yes, everything you said to her was true. She did tamper with evidence, and you know she did. In fact, she knows that you know that she did it. But unfortunately, that’s not going to get you any closer to nailing Brady (Eric Martsolf) for the hit-and-run.

The Guilt Game

As EJ and Kristen confronted each other at the Salem PD, Brady finally faced the woman whose life he thinks he ruined. Brady admirably stood in front of Xander (Paul Telfer), Fiona (Serena Scott Thomas), Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), and, most importantly, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey — who revealed the challenges of playing this story).

Brady’s pain was palpable as he took accountability for a crime he didn’t actually commit. He also took accountability for his relapse, making bad choices, and not calling Maggie when he was in trouble.

Unfortunately for him, there’s no way this will move the needle for Xander. Understandably, his anger has continued to increase. Meanwhile, Maggie said she was in no place to judge Brady since she had the same disease. In the past, she made her own poor choices, so ultimately, she’s more disappointed than anything. But she also has to feel a little judgmental, right? She’s human, after all, and this is her daughter whose life changed forever.

The family scenes were heartbreaking, and there’s no way this pain, anger, and judgment will end soon. Not with Marlena (Deidre Hall) about to hypnotize Sarah to see if she can remember who was driving that car.
