The Wednesday, April 9 episode of Days of Our Lives was productive. JJ and Shawn questioned Kristen at the station after finding a gun in her purse. Gabi reflected on the night of EJ’s shooting. Corporate bros Xander and Philip made their big move with the help of Wei Shin. And as Belle made a reluctant declaration, her sister Sami returned.

She’s Back!

On Wednesday, Belle (Martha Madison) sat at EJ’s bedside, struggling with her feelings for such a despicable man. She had an imaginary conversation with a suddenly awake EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). The culmination of it all was that their relationship was more than some toxic addiction—that she actually loved the guy.

Of course, that made it the perfect time for one of the episode’s seismic shifts to occur. Sami (Alison Sweeney), of course, knows how to make an entrance. She’s drama of the highest order and finds herself in the right place at the wrong time when she enters EJ’s room. She overheard Belle admitting to a comatose EJ that she indeed loved him.

“Wow, hello, Belle. Isn’t that sweet,” Sami said not-so-sweetly. It was a perfect reintroduction. And on Thursday, we’ll get a classic Sami versus Belle showdown. Falling for your sibling’s ex breaks most families’ sister codes. But Sami and Belle are a special case. How will Sami truly react? Will she decimate Belle verbally? Or take it easy on her?

A Kiriakis Takeover

Xander (Paul Telfer), Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier), and Wei Shin (Clyde Kusatsu) took advantage of Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) being in police custody. The half-brothers worked together. Xander handled Shin’s return while Philip pumped Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) for information on EJ and ultimately learned the news about Kristen’s unfortunate questioning.

Then, they quickly pounced and executed their plan. They decided to alert the board so they could call for a vote of no confidence against Kristen. Apparently, the board removed her as CEO and gave the title to Shin, who then made the deal with Titan.

Towards the end of the episode, Xander and Philip walked into the DiMera offices. They approached Gabi (Cherie Jimenez), who had just recalled being at the DiMera mansion the night of EJ’s shooting. We still don’t know if she shot him, but she was there. She had the gun in her hand and was about to open one of the side doors to the DiMera living room.

Suddenly, she came out of the memory when Philip called her name. So, we have no idea if she actually opened the door. However, Philip and Xander proceeded to inform her that her office was now their office. “All of this belongs to us now,” Xander stated.

While Gabi Chic is a mere cog in the wheel of the DiMera empire, we’re not waiting to see Gabi’s reaction to the takeover news. Kristen has experienced one distraction after another. She took her eyes off the ball, and now the Kiriakis bros have taken the company over. This is perfect payback, considering she, once upon a time, attempted to acquire Titan for DiMera. Hers is the reaction we’re waiting for.
