Shawn Douglas Brady was shot on the March 19 episode of Days of our Lives. JJ froze, and we suspect he’ll feel guilty about that. But will it be worse if Shawn… dies?
Key Takeaways:
- JJ’s hesitation caused Shawn to get shot
- JJ is bound to blame himself
- Will Salem lose a Horton/Brady/Kiriakis?
Waiting Game
Vivian’s (Louise Sorel) thug cornered Liam (Hank Northrop) in the park and prepared to kill him for being a bad flunky. Liam tried to beg for his life by bringing up his single-dad status. The thug did not care. Then the cops (finally) showed up. JJ (Casey Moss) was the first to pull his gun, but instead of shooting the bad guy, he decided to have some flashbacks to the time when he shot Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews), because DAYS has made it his life’s goal to make sure JJ never forgets it. Because JJ hesitated, Shawn (Brandon Beemer) got shot instead. And, also, Liam got a sexy little boo-boo he can now show off to Ari (Marissa Reyes).
Core Character
Shawn didn’t look good twitching on the ground there, did he? Does this mean he could actually die? Shawn is pretty much the crux of Salem royalty. His mother, Hope (Kristian Alfonso), is a Horton (via her mother, Addie). His father, Bo (Peter Reckell), is a Kiriakis by blood via Victor (John Aniston), but Shawn was named after Shawn Brady, the dad who raised Bo. (He was named after both his grandfathers, and went by the name Shawn-Douglas while Shawn Sr. was still alive.) Killing him off would take out multiple family histories.
Options
Then again, Shawn has so many relatives in town, he’s left with very few dating options. We actually really liked him with Jada (Elia Cantu). But if the show isn’t going to follow up with that, maybe his dying would be the best way to get drama out of the character.
