On the December 17 episode of Days of our Lives, Kristen finally said the words we’ve been waiting months to hear. And we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Key Takeaways
- Kristen is never to blame for anything — everyone else is.
- Kristin berated EJ for doing exactly the same thing she has been doing for years.
- Kristen admitted she may have been wrong… ish.

Presumed Innocent
Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) has never taken responsibility for anything she has done, and, most recently, that tendency has been passed on to Rachel (Alice Halsey). Her precious baby is good and innocent, and if she does anything bad, well, it’s society’s fault.
That’s how Kristen responded when Chad (Billy Flynn) told her about Rachel getting Thomas (Cary Christopher) to try and kill Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) with a pumpkin, but hit Alex (Robert Scott Wilson), instead. Eh, Kristen said, that was just a delightful childhood prank. And probably Thomas’ fault.
She even said the same when EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) filled Kristen in about Rachel almost killing Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) with pistachios. Eh, Kristen shrugged, Sarah survived, didn’t she?
Bad Moms (and Dads)
Kristen is allowed to do anything she believes necessary to protect Rachel. But when EJ blackmailed her to save his own son, well, he is evil incarnate.
Kristen actually physically attacked EJ when she learned that Rachel actually has to face consequences for trying to kill her uncle. Not her precious, blameless, faultless baby girl!
Change of Heart
And, yet, here is where we give Kristen — and the show — credit. By the end of today’s episode, Kristen admitted to Chad that she gets it: EJ was just protecting Johnny (Carson Boatman), the way Kristen always protects Rachel. (With the added detail that Johnny actually was innocent, and Rachel actually is guilty.) Maybe now that Kristen has had this insight, she might one day teach her daughter to do the same.
