Horror stories aside, interactions between fans and the actors they adore can be a thing of beauty — as a recent back-and-forth between Days of our Lives alum Peter Reckell and an admirer on social media so perfectly illustrates.

Peter Reckell Thanks A Most Dedicated Fan

Proof positive that Devil’s in the details — and that only a true fan could recall the most minute of details — a DAYS devotee took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted a homemade, half-hour compilation of Peter Reckell’s work on what was a milestone birthday for his fictional alter-ego.

Included in the tribute piece were several contentious confrontations between Bo and big brother Roman (then Wayne Northrop, now Josh Taylor), and, of course, copious helpings of Bo and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) AKA Lady X, AKA Fancy Face. Also not to be missed, Bo learning the identity of his biological father whom he just happens to be holding at gunpoint!

Angie AKA @Evangelia1111 penned, “Hope you all enjoyed the clips I posted celebrating Bo’s 60th birthday! Thank you [Peter Reckell] for bringing the iconic #BoBrady to life and pouring your heart & soul into #Days most beloved hero. We ALL want to see you back in Salem, where you belong!”

A flurry of compliments rightfully accompanied the share. Joann gushed, “Angie thank you for today’s Bo Brady birthday celebration clips and for everything you do each and every day for your followers. You are amazing.” Marilyn Gober wrote, “Thank YOU, Angie for being such a talented keeper of the memories and for sharing them with daily! Hopefully many more to come!”

Meanwhile, Dee spoke for a great many when she submitted, “Thank you for sharing all these wonderful Bo Brady clips, Angie. It’s time to wake Bo up and reunite him with his family and friends.”

But it was a post from the one and only Peter Reckell [and yes, it was the real McCoy, and not one of those pesky impersonators] that set the thread buzzing. The Bo Brady actor heaped praise upon the video’s creator — “40 years distilled down to 30 minutes, amazing job, Angie!!!” — then signed off with, “I have been darn lucky to play such a character. Thanks to all of you who have helped keep him alive. Hope he wakes up soon.”

Reckell, who was last seen onscreen comatose after being shot by his son, originated the role of Bo on May 3, 1983.
