The first month of 2025 was quite a doozy for Days of Our Lives. Doppelgangers, anonymous bloggers, and missing kids ran rampant in Salem. But what affected half of those who voted in this poll the most was the story of a grieving wife.
January 2025 Performer of the Month
The Nominees
The January 2025 Performer of the Month nominees included Deidre Hall, whose Dr. Marlena Evans is Salem’s favorite listener. But it’s clear that soon, she’s going to be the one to need support. Currently, she’s feeling lonely with John (the late Drake Hogestyn) away on a super secret assignment for the ISA. Every time Marlena talks about her husband, you can see her fear for his safety. She just needs to hear his voice, and everything will be okay. Hall is playing all those beats perfectly.
Meanwhile, Brady Black has a lot on his plate. His son Tate (Leo Howard) is dealing with teen pregnancy. He is finally getting back into the dating scene with a budding romance with Ava (Tamara Braun). However, two obstacles stand between Brady and Ava: Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and their daughter, Rachel (Finley Rose Slater). As a result, Eric Martsolf had to pull out all the stops to deal with the emotions required for each scenario. When Rachel went missing, he was strong for Kristen and vulnerable with Ava.
The third nominee and runner-up in the poll is the actor who recently reintroduced his doppelganger to Salem. Yes, Galen Gering looked like he had so much fun while playing Arnold Feniger. Arnold got to run free pretending to be Rafe. Meanwhile, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) had the Real Rafe tied up in the DiMera tunnels. As Fake Rafe, Gering got the chance to loosen up and play the shady side of life for a change.

The Top Spot
Once again, DAYS fans were decisive. With over 50 percent of the vote, Susan Seaforth Hayes was the overwhelming Performance of the Month winner. As Julie Williams, she continued to deal with the loss of the love of her life. In the process, the show did a great job of showing a woman mourning her partner and life as she knew it.
Seaforth Hayes nailed every scene. Julie can’t sleep in the bed she shared with Doug (the late Bill Hayes). She can barely sleep on the sofa downstairs. She sits on the couch in the dark, just staring out. And she’s just sad. Thankfully, Chad (Billy Flynn) and JJ (Casey Moss) urged the reluctant Julie to seek therapy. And she followed through when she had her first session with Marlena. Julie’s grief is palpable and relatable, thanks to Seaforth Hayes.
