It was good to see Casey Moss return as JJ Deveraux on the Thursday, October 17 episode of Days of Our Lives. Can you believe that it’s been two years since we last saw JJ? While his presence and participation in Chad and Fake Abby’s wedding was welcome, we can’t help but feel that one of the missing elements of this story is the absence of the Deveraux family.
The Deveraux Family Was Needed
Yes, Jack (Matthew Ashford) was involved in the beginning of this entire story. However, after Jennifer (Cady McClain) arrived and had a visceral reaction to Fake Abby (AnnaLynne McCord — find out what she learned from the late Shannen Doherty), they headed back to Boston, where they remained. Meanwhile, this is the first time JJ (Casey Moss) has been back since his sister “came back to life.”
JJ: “I have to admit that I was nervous about seeing you, “Abigail.” Especially after the way mom felt when she did. Now, I’m just sorry I didn’t reach out sooner even if it was to video chat or talk to you on the phone.”
Without the Deveraux family in town, the pressure on the Greenes came from elsewhere. Abigail didn’t want Chad’s kids to know, and Chad (Billy Flynn) wanted her to remember them and their love. Steve (Stephen Nichols) added a little pressure and some clever maneuvering, but not as much as he usually would. It’s like the show purposely kept the pressure at bay just to get to this wedding in Paris.
And with JJ’s words to the person who’s not his sister, it doesn’t seem like he’s trying to even be skeptical. Hopefully, that’s just the way he looks on the outside. And internally, he’s thinking the same as his mother, that this woman before him can’t be his true sister. It would be great if JJ and Marin would get a one-on-one.

Also, it would have been great if Jack, Jennifer, Steve, and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) had shown up in Paris when Mark (Jonah Robinson) did. Instead, the urgency only comes from Fake Abby’s flashes of fear on her face. After all, she saw and deleted Kayla’s text to Chad.
So, a different kind of hell is about to break loose in Friday’s episode. And the only Deveraux represented will be JJ.
