Days of Our Lives October 15: Xander Faces Fiona—When’s his Mea Culpa to Brady?

Fiona faced the inevitable during the Tuesday, October 15 episode of Days of Our Lives. Xander interrupted her, attempting to kill his wife. An epic confrontation logically ensued. At the police station, Brady was super relieved, grateful, and reflective.

Mother/Son Showdown

The Xander / Fiona confrontation scenes were pretty wonderful to watch. Paul Telfer brought the appropriate amount of rage and pain. He even pulled out his hurt puppy dog eyes as he looked at the woman who continually disappointed him his entire life.

As for his scene partner, Serena Scott Thomas has a knack for going from sinister to sympathetic to pathetic and back again. But Fiona couldn’t talk her way out of this. Xander saw his mom trying to push Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) to her death. And in the end, Jada (Elia Cantu) slapped the cuffs on her and took her to the police precinct.

Relieved and Reflective

Brady (Eric Martsolf) knows he has dodged a bullet. And he doesn’t just have to rely on Sarah’s memory. He remembers what happened, so he is aware that even though he no longer has to feel guilty about hitting Sarah, he has a lot of work to do. He needs to stay the course, remain sober, and go back to meetings.

And he was appropriately grateful for his brother’s diligence and proactive help. Brady admitted if it weren’t for Eric (Greg Vaughan), he might never have remembered Fiona was behind the wheel, and his drunk self was mostly passed out in the passenger seat. And then Brady and Eric shared a sweet moment with Marlena (Deidre Hall) where they could be happy that this particularly traumatic experience was about to end.

My Bad

There’s a huge mea culpa that has to happen. Xander, who only ever apologizes to Sarah and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), will need to dig deep and apologize in a big and bad way to Brady. Even though he should have been helping Sarah navigate this new wheelchaired life at home, he was, of course, consumed with revenge. After Brady was arrested, he still wanted to enact payback.

Fiona better make her own apologies to Brady, but that goes without saying. The woman is a hot mess, and she could have had an ally in Brady, yet she obliterated his life to protect her life from imploding. How will Brady react to Fiona now? And will Fiona go to jail for the next ten years?

And when do we get to see EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) face when he realizes Brady is an innocent man? (Play the Billy Joel song here.)

What were your thoughts on today’s episode? Did Johnny (Carson Boatman) frustrate you like he did us? And do we really want to see Marlena fall down an elevator shaft? Let us know in the comments.
