In the Thursday, October 10 episode of Days of Our Lives, Clyde Weston raised the stakes to his latest con. He ordered Dr. Mark Greene to make Fauxbigail a widow. Apparently, that was much easier than draining his accounts. Hopefully, this run for the DiMera fortune will be Clyde’s last stand.
Clyde Weston (James Read) has been around so long that he’s systematically made life hellish for all of Salem’s residents at one point or another. Originally introduced as Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) and Jordan’s (Chrishell Stause) abusive dad, he eventually caused all kinds of chaos. This included being a part of the town’s very own Legion of Doom, which consisted of Clyde, Orpheus (George DelHoyo), and Xander (Paul Telfer).
But that drug ring he somehow operated behind bars extended his villainous reach in Salem, and when he was finally recaptured, we thought that that would be it for a while. However, the show returned to the Clyde well pretty quickly. It revived his reign of tyranny one more time and in such a cruel way.

He’s forcing a brother-and-sister team to con Chad (Billy Flynn) into marrying someone he thinks is his resurrected late wife. And it’s all in the name of snagging the DiMera fortune. So, this scheme has involved forged DNA tests, a massive plastic surgery transformation, and introducing a whole new family that’s now embedded into Salem life.
But Clyde’s motives for cooking up this whole thing are shaky at best. When did he think of this plan? Why the DiMera fortune? How long did this transformation take? What’s up with this mother that he’s holding hostage? How’s he doing this all from a Super Max prison?

While the show clearly wants to make fetch happen, Clyde is no Stefano (the late Joe Mascolo) or Orpheus, even though we adore James Read, who plays Clyde (we have loved him since his North and South days). And they’re already laying the groundwork for him to get out of jail once again. But hopefully, Dr. Greene (Jonah Robinson) will somehow figure a way out, and Clyde will be stuck in that Super Max forever.
But here we are with Fake Abby (AnnaLynne McCord) and Chad in Paris. She’s pretending to regain her memories—well, not memories, per se, but the essence and feelings of those memories. Let’s hope that more clarification and an epic wedding climax are coming.

We need to know more, especially about the mom the siblings are doing this for. Plus, once this happens, we know Billy Flynn will crush it as Chad reacts to what these people put him through.
Ultimately, wouldn’t it have been better if the show had introduced a new big bad that had stronger reasons for wanting to bring the DiMeras down? Almost every single one of the DiMeras must have a million enemies. Their family superpower is pissing people off with their lack of morals, excess of arrogance, and willingness to harm others.
