Alice’s stolen necklace is finally front and center. After all, it was stolen on the day of Doug’s funeral way back in December. After months of very little action, the story is approaching its climax. This week, Julie finds out Doug III stole it. In the Monday, March 24 episode of Days of Our Lives, Tate gets ready to throw the Salem newbie under the bus big time. Are his actions validated or petty?

Three months after Doug (Peyton Meyer) stole Alice’s necklace from the time capsule, Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) filed a report with the police. Melinda (Tina Huang) is holding a lot of the cards here. Even though she knew that Leo had fenced the necklace and that Doug had stolen it, she told JJ (Casey Moss) nothing. The story that she’s sticking to is that she bought it from a reputable seller and had the paperwork to prove it. Being the ace lawyer that she is, she walked right back out of the precinct. There was nothing JJ could do.

Melinda also holds all the cards with Doug, Leo (Greg Rikaart), and Holly (Ashley Puzemis). She knows the entire story and could mention them in conversations with the cops at any time. The bigger story in this episode is what got Tate (Leo Howard) to call Julie. And we know from the DAYS weekly preview that he actually rats out Doug III.
Tate and Holly spent quality time together, watching a movie and making out. When Doug texted Holly, their good times changed. She called Doug back almost immediately, and he told her what had transpired with Melinda, JJ, and Julie. He had no clue whether Melinda would throw them under the bus, so he felt they should meet in the park and discuss strategy.

Tate couldn’t believe Holly would actually cut their date short. He rightly said that Doug got her into this mess. He clearly didn’t think she should meet him. Tate also said this wasn’t about being jealous. It was about keeping her out of trouble.
Doug’s actions since he got to town have been super shady, and we don’t blame Tate for not wanting Holly to spend time with him. But he also doesn’t have a leg to stand on, considering everything that’s been going on with Sophia (Rachel Boyd). So we’re not buying that he resorted to ratting Doug out solely because he’s worried about Holly getting in trouble with the cops. He’s acting jealous and petty, and he knows it.

Ultimately, Melidna didn’t even mention Doug or Holly. So what will Tate think when he finds that out?
