In the Monday, May 19 episode of Days of Our Lives, Shawn called in sick so he could deal with the Versivex issue. Unfortunately, for him, Jada caught him with Steve in the middle of Horton Town Square. Shawn reconnected with Kevin, who had just unloaded the Versivex. Alex pulled Kate into editing Stephanie’s racy romantic novel. However, Stephanie changed her mind. She doesn’t want her book published. Sarah worried about Xander’s whereabouts. And Philip spilled the beans on the forged letter secret after Xander spilled his blood.
Blood & Secrets
Well, this was the beatdown we all expected Xander (Paul Telfer) to give Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) when he first found out about the forged letter. It was a mighty brutal beating that made us feel bad for Philip. Unfortunately, it also validated Sarah’s reasoning as to why she kept it secret from her husband. If Xander had learned the truth when she did, he might have foregone his fists and feet of fury and chosen a gun or a baseball bat instead.
The whole time, Philip tried to get Xander to hear his truth, but all Xander saw was red. There was no way he would let anything stop the beating, either physical or verbal. Xander took no prisoners when he berated Philip’s very existence.
As Philip wheezed and gurgled up blood, he managed to blow up the one last element of the forged letter secret. And he knew what he was doing when he decided to tell Xander the truth with two simple words: “Sarah knew.”

Reactions
It already seems like Xander has connected the dots, and now he has questions for Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). So he clearly needs to confirm what he’s thinking. Once that happens, he will undoubtedly feel betrayed by the woman he loves more than life itself. And while he will have every right to be angry, this secret doesn’t really touch all the secrets and lies he’s inflicted on Sarah in the past.
Xander knowing about Sarah lying to him means he’ll have to find out about Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) knowing and keeping the secret from him as well. So there’s a potential for Xander feeling betrayed on multiple levels. Kate (Lauren Koslow) is going to be out for blood. She wants Xander in jail, but that means the forgery will be blown up in a public way, which would be bad for Titan-DiMera. And Jada (Elia Cantu) is already on the case.
Once Philip gets better (and he better get better), how will he react to Xander’s smackdown? Does he feel he deserved it, or will he have it out for Xander? This situation could evolve into more of a hot mess than it already is.
