Days of Our Lives took a short break from production recently. Star Stephen Nichols spent the brief hiatus helping provide much-needed supplies to victims of the LA Wildfires. Now, the cast and crew are headed back into production. Nichols and co-star Mary Beth Evans filmed a fun behind-the-scenes video and posted it on social media.
Holidays Used to Be Excruciatingly Long
Nichols and Evans excited the fans as they were set to get back to work playing Steve and Kayla on DAYS. They shot a video showing them on set, walking around the studio, and posted it to Instagram, writing, “We’re back! #blondesunited #days.” In it, Nichols stated, “Hi, we just finished Halloween. Look, it’s Halloween back there.” Behind them, you could see the sets dressed up for the spooky holiday, which must be for 2025’s October episodes.
“We get burned out on holidays,” Evans remarked, continuing, “You know, it’s actually better now because we’re so far ahead that we shoot it now, and then it’s a long time [before the episodes air].” She then stated that in the past, shooting would be two weeks before an episode aired, “So Christmas would just go on for a lifetime because it was here, and then two weeks go by, then we start it in our own lives. So actually, I kind of think it’s better to do it like this.”

Blondes United
Nichols and Evans continued walking around the back area of the studio and encountered a few crew members they were happy to see, as well as Susan Seaforth Hayes, who plays the beloved Julie. After discussing what fake flowers they have at home and on set, Evans put an arm around Hayes, stating, “Anyway, we’ve been gone for a long time…” with Hayes continuing the thought, “…and we’re happy to see each other. Blondes united.” Evans agreed, and Hayes also included Nichols in their reunion.
The fans were over the moon to see their favorite DAYS actors together, with one responding, “❤️❤️❤️. Love all of you. Awesome video. So great to see some behind the scenes.” Another shared their appreciation for the video, commenting, “I just love how you all get along and care about each other. Thank you Stephen for posting! We appreciate each and everyone of you. ❤️.”
