On the March 3 episode of Days of our Lives, longtime fans got a very special gift when Alex told Justin he’d received a message about Stephanie — from Adrienne.
Key Takeaways
- Alex is worried about Stephanie.
- Justin — and Adrienne — reassure him.
- Is this a clue about who is in Rolf’s container?
Use the Force
As Justin (Wally Kurth) reassured Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) that his and Stephanie’s (Abigail Klein) love story would have a happy ending, Alex told his dad that his beloved stepmom, Adrienne (Judi Evans), came to him in a dream to say the same thing.
It was lovely to be reminded of Justin’s first love and the woman who loved Alex like her own, even though he wasn’t.
Peek-A-Boo
In the same episode, Rolf (Richard Wharton), EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), and Gwen (Emily O’Brien) discussed a “her” who was about to be brought back from the dead. Could this be a clue that Adrienne is the one in the glowing green container?
Sure, Evans is currently on the canvas playing Justin’s new wife, Bonnie, but, hey, why not double your pleasure, double your fun?
Last Word
When I spoke to Kurth for my book, Super Soap Scenes: A Time Capsule of Daytime Drama’s Greatest Moments, about the possibility of Adrienne returning, this is what he had to say:
Justin and Bonnie is a new relationship. He’s lost the love of his life, but Bonnie brings out something in him that Adrienne didn’t. Judi and I have always had a real trust with one another. When you act with somebody, you really have to trust that other person and go with whatever they give you. We’ve always done that with each other. Judi goes with anyone; she’s just so available to whatever any actor throws her way. Bonnie’s kooky, and I like working with characters who are bigger than life. Maybe it’s because I came from musical theater. I know fans would love to see Adrienne come back, and I understand that because that four-year storyline was really impactful for a lot of people. I have no opinion about it one way or the other. But I do know that Judi has voiced more than once how she enjoys playing Bonnie. It’s a fun character for her. Judi likes playing Bonnie, so we’ve gotta go with that! It’s her choice. But who knows? Adrienne could come back to life!”
