John Black’s final story has to include one of his biggest nemeses, right? At the end of the Friday, March 28 episode of Days of Our Lives, the show unleashed an Orpheus-sized cliffhanger when he showed up in Marlena’s hotel room.
Three Big Returns
Paul and Andrew
The search for John (the late Drake Hogestyn) resumed in Tallinn, Estonia, with three big returns.
Paul (Christopher Sean) and Andrew (Colton Little) divided and conquered, with Paul showing up at Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) hotel room while Andrew met Steve (Stephen Nichols) at a restaurant. Marlena and Paul reconnected and reflected on Paul’s relationship with John. He remembered how things didn’t start so great for the two, but they eventually became father and son in the truest sense.
Meanwhile, Andrew and Steve’s discussion was more about the mission. Andrew lamented that he had been keeping a secret from Paul. He knew more about what was going on with John and had to keep a lid on it. But now was no longer the time for hiding things.

Later, in Marlena’s hotel room, Andrew came clean. He told Marlena and Paul about John’s work in Estonia. Apparently, a nuclear device was being built at a facility. It was just about ready and will soon be sold to the highest bidder. Obviously, if the wrong person got their hands on this device, it could have deadly consequences for the world.
John found the facility with the device, and he hasn’t been heard from since. The ISA told him not to infiltrate it, but according to Andrew, “they suspect he went rogue.” So, Andrew, Paul, and John headed to the facility to see about rescuing John if he was there. Marlena reluctantly stayed behind, which was a big mistake. Huge.
Orpheus is Back
It has been a couple of years since Orpheus (George DelHoyo) has encountered Salem residents. But the very last scene of Friday’s episode featured the menacing man surprising Marlena in her hotel room. She had just come out of the bathroom when the supervillain surprised her, saying, “Forget your shampoo?” Marlena instantly looked terrified.
This happened just as Steve found an interesting folder at the warehouse where the nuclear device was housed. Did the contents of the folder tell him that this was an Orpheus operation?
Is Oprheus the one who engineered the building of the nuclear device, or does he want to get his hands on it? And what does he know about John? Is he responsible for John’s disappearance? In other news, it looks like the forged letter will stay a secret for a little while longer. Thoughts? Let us know in the comments.
