While Tate and Holly reconnected, and Jada and Rafe waited for Kristen to get the immunity deal for her mom signed and sealed, others were up to no good. In the Friday, March 21 episode of Days of Our Lives, EJ had to think fast to deal with Rachel Blake. And Melinda Trask had to think fast after Julie caught her wearing the Horton necklace.
EJ’s Criminal Ways Continue
Jada (Elia Cantu) and Rafe (Galen Gering) thought they finally had EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) agreed to get her mom to sign the ironclad immunity deal assuring her freedom in exchange for her testimony against EJ DiMera. Of course, things did not go smoothly. It looks like they will have to think of another way to bring the former Salem DA down.
EJ figured he would take care of Rachel (Roslyn Gentle) the way he took care of Rafe’s memory: with an injection of CRS-17. But Rachel was too clever. She apparently witnessed him talking about his plan (to his father) and grabbing the syringe from his safe. She replaced Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) concoction so that when EJ finally injected her, her memory stayed intact.
So it was onto Plan B. EJ made Rachel disappear. However, we have no idea what he did with her. When Kristen returned to the DiMera mansion to get the doc signed, her mother was nowhere to be found.
Kristen was onto him, so she whipped the gun out of her purse. She didn’t seem afraid of using the gun to get the information she needed, which cemented her status as one of EJ’s biggest threats.
The Stolen Necklace
At The Bistro, Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes), Doug (Peyton Meyer), and JJ (Casey Moss) stumbled upon the Horton necklace Doug stole from the time capsule all those months ago. Doug didn’t give away a thing, and neither did Melinda (Tina Huang).
The DiMera lawyer told Julie she bought the necklace from a trusted source. While Julie wanted JJ to arrest Melinda, he couldn’t. Julie had never reported the piece of jewelry stolen. JJ asked her if she wanted to do that, and she said she did. She explained that she hadn’t because, originally, she thought a member of the family had stolen it.

Little did she know that was exactly what happened. When Doug stayed behind after JJ and Julie left for the precinct, Melinda seemed understanding of Doug’s plight. However, she said that if this ended up biting her in the you-know-what, she’d have no choice but to tell the cops how it really went down. She would feed them his name.
While it was disappointing that the whole secret didn’t come out in the middle of The Bistro, this could be a chance for Doug to come clean. Rip off the band-aid, dig deep, and confess to his crime.
But Doug and EJ will do whatever they can except confess their crimes. What did you think of the episode? Let us know in the comments.
