Last month, viewers met Felicity Greene, played by Kennedy Garcia, a friend of Chanel and Johnny’s who has a big interest in and talent for baking. Now, the Days of our Lives actress, who has Down syndrome, is chatting exclusively with Soap Hub about her next appearance on the show on Tuesday, June 25.
Conversing with Kennedy
“I saw my first episode [from May],” Garcia tells Soap Hub. “I loved it! I love being on the show.” The actress says that being on DAYS is a huge step for her. “People should not count out Felicity!”
Garcia auditioned for her role on DAYS last year. She says she was about five years old when she first started acting, appearing in the film Pure Country 2: The Gift.
Away from DAYS, she’s a public speaker, who uses her voice to help folks who may be uncertain about how to approach someone with Down syndrome. “Just go over and say, ‘Hello,'” Kennedy Garcia advises. “It could be the start of a beautiful friendship.” (Read more about Garcia here.)
We know Felicity has friends — Chanel (Raven Bowns) and Johnny (Carson Boatman) — and two brothers, Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo) and Dr. Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson).
“Raven and Carson were my first friends at the show,” Garcia says. “They showed me around and they run lines with me.” About Felicity, the actress says, “She’s kind and sweet and she loves her family.”
Garcia is definitely open to seeing other facets of her character’s life explored. “I would love to see Felicity have a boyfriend!” she enthuses. “I honestly think that she needs to do something unexpected. That would take everyone by surprise!”
