And why it’s surprising that Philip isn’t on board for a hostile takeover.

Another Xander and Philip era as Titan co-CEOs began in the Thursday, January 9 episode of Days of Our Lives. Unsurprisingly, things got off to a rocky start. In fact, Philip made ego-filled assumptions, and Xander’s plans initially didn’t include consulting Philip. Are these two going to be able to work together? After what Stephanie witnessed, that may not be a problem anymore.

Hostile Takeover

We have no delusions that Xander (Paul Telfer) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) can work together in peace and harmony. It’ll take an act of God to make that happen. First, Philip got the co-CEO title using nefarious means. And Xander almost never plays well with others.

However, Xander scheming a hostile takeover of DiMera is a great idea. Why shouldn’t he go after the company? 1) He deserves to get payback for Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) going after Titan. 2) What exactly is going on at DiMera right now? A whole lot of nothing. 3) Kristen is distracted by Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) going after Ava (Tamara Braun). 4) Why not kick off this new era of Titan big?

Yes, once the DiMeras clued in that Titan was attempting a takeover, the fight would get dirty, dangerous, and even deadly. Philip’s right—he’s very right. But why is he suddenly fearful of going after DiMera?

Is he really worried about what happened in the past? Or does he simply want to disagree just to disagree? After all, the first thing he did when he walked into the CEO’s office was demand that he be the one everybody sees as the guy in the top spot. Why is he suddenly being noble and above board when everything he’s been doing lately has been underhanded?

It’s no doubt to prove to Stephanie (Abigail Klein) that he can be a good guy. But we know better. When he first entered the CEO office, he gave Xander a hard time. Why would he do that when he knows he’s there due to a forged letter? He’s lucky that the judge split the baby 50/50.

Overheard in the Office

In addition to all this, Stephanie overheard the truth about how Philip got back into Titan. She now knows about the forged letter. What is she going to do with this information?

Will she blab it to the injured parties, namely Xander, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey)? Or will charming Philip figure out a way to convince Stephanie to stay quiet on the matter?

Maybe Stephanie stays silent. However, she puts the screws to Philip. She tells him she won’t reveal his deviousness, but he will have to work in conjunction with Xander. No more fighting with Xander. No more rejecting his plans and schemes.

Will Stephanie tell Xander and Sarah right away, or will she keep what she knows to herself for now? In the comments, let us know your thoughts on this and Xander’s DiMera takeover proposal.
