On the January 29 episode of Days of our Lives, even the mentally unstable Sophia was able to figure out that Chanel is pregnant. Chanel and Johnny think they’re so clever, keeping her condition a secret…while pretty much telling anyone they see. Which means that Dr. Rolf either already knows or will know soon. And Dr. Rolf will have a plan.
Key Takeaways
- Steve and Kayla led the way.
- Chanel’s baby is Stefano’s great-grandchild.
- The Phoenix always rises.
April Fool’s Day Flashback
Remember the out-of-time April Fool’s Day episode where Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) was suddenly pregnant, and the baby she gave birth to was a clone of Stefano (Joseph Moscolo)? Kayla and Steve (Stephen Nichols) resolved to raise the child on the straight and narrow, figuring that nurture would win out over nature.
It didn’t work. But it certainly sounded like something Rolf (Richard Wharton) would do, didn’t it?
Never Too Late
Rolf told EJ that he couldn’t bring Stefano back from the dead because his body had deteriorated beyond saving. But what about a brand new, healthy body? Rolf loves to shove someone else’s memories in another person’s head.
The problem is that if they’ve already lived a full life, the memories are sometimes overruled by the real ones. It made for a schizophrenic mess. But a newborn baby, on the other hand.
Blood Ties
Not just any newborn baby, though. For instance, Trey isn’t a blood relative of Stefano’s. His tiny body isn’t nearly worthy of incubating the next Stefano DiMera. Chanel’s (Raven Bowens) infant, however, will also be Johnny’s (Carson Boatman).
Johnny loved his Nono, didn’t he? Johnny should be delighted to sacrifice his son for the good of the family. Who wouldn’t want to be the father of the world’s next supervillain?
