Rachel Blake, Aremid, the Woman in White, and Peter Blake — all were mentioned or played a part in the Friday, January 24 episode of Days of Our Lives. History met present when Rachel Blake and Rachel Black teamed up to to eliminate a “pesky interloper.” But all this Blake talk has us thinking about a character we’d really love to return: Peter Blake.
The Rachels Join Forces
Apparently, Stefano DiMera (the late Joe Mascolo) may not have been the only one to escape the collapse of the Parisian tunnels all those years ago. Just as The Phoenix rose from the ashes, Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) mother may have dug herself out as well. If we’re to believe the “Woman in White” we met today is THE Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle).
How long has she been living in Aremid, the Blake estate of yore? She encountered Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) and immediately struck up a conversation and established a connection. Yet she didn’t let Little Rachel know they had the same name. She kept her identity hidden.
Meanwhile, Kristen and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) bonded as they reflected on Kristen’s family history. They talked about her mom, the Parisian tunnels, Stefano, Aremid, and her brother Peter (ex-Jason Brooks). This was a slice of DAYS and DiMera history that we haven’t heard about for a minute.
However, Kristen reminisced about her mother always “trying to appeal to my better angels” while the Woman in White cooked up a nefarious plan that would help take care of Ava (Tamara Braun). Rachel Black called her mom’s rival and let her know where she was, that she couldn’t get hold of her parents. And when Ava arrived, the two knocked her out.
What’s next in their plan?

Where is Peter Blake?
With all this Rachel and Aremid talk, why not recast and bring back Peter Blake? It feels like it’s the perfect time. Especially with so many vets headed back to Salem once the Ron Carlivati era is over and the material from new head writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford takes over.
Peter was super shady but when he fell in love with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), he wanted to change for the good. He just never could seem to make that happen. He had a knack for coming off the hero, but usually was up to something villainous. And he was always scrambling to keep a lid on his bad deeds like trafficking drugs out of a club he owned.

He caused lots of drama back in the day, however, he was the one guy who could truly rival Jack (Matthew Ashford). Sorry, Daniel (ex-Shawn Christian). With Jennifer and Jack in and out of Salem, Peter’s return could help give them a juicy story.
What do you think? Would you love to see Peter return? Let us know in the comments.
